Group SSF
I don't give two shits about ladder either. I'd play group/party version of SSF with a few friends, just for the added challenge. I'm not misanthropist/loner enough to bother playing the current SSF. And honestly, I don't find PoE in its current state worthy of spending the extra time that SSF would require.

Why the hell so much opposing GSF?
If you want to play the current system, keep playing there. I would love to see a system where party play is encouraged again. Not that idiot QotF gang tidal waving maps. Vorici can shove his fuse up his [removed]

" SSF server is mainly for bragging rights. If you want to play with your friends without engaging in trade, and you don't care about ladder and rankings, you can just do it right now. But you obviously care, and the person I was quoting is right. Last edited by golan4840#5583 on Nov 4, 2018, 4:40:37 AM

" Hello there. I was definitely expecting that "you can do it right now" argument. Unfortunately, it might not be as straightforward as you see it. Now, let's say i decide to "do it right now". Let's also say i'm a social player who likes to have fun with strangers, in public parties. How would i feel playing along with people with OP traded gear ? Useless, and i might aswell represent a handicap for the party, that would most probably kick me at some point. I believe having everybody playing under the same restriction (SF) would solve such problem. PLEASE QUOTE ME IF YOU ARE EXPECTING A REPLY Last edited by xhul#1978 on Nov 4, 2018, 5:08:11 AM

" I bet you said the exact same thing before SSF leagues were implemented. |

How I would define a selffound group party rule:
No items can be traded between all players No items could be dropped, even out of towns. When it should be dropped, it would be destroyed. Each player gets his own loot and you can only see your loot. So you can party up with friends and also public games, but you have the same resrictions as you would by SSF. Next thing to speak about is EXP gaining by forming groups or how the players could profit by party playing, what is not depending their loot. Here we get the question about boss kills and loot, like only killer gets items, but all can profit by quest getting. This would mean you can have huge advantage by grouping to get through story mode and enter maps endgame in playtime. But you would loose this time win by standing there with no items, if you killed nothing on your way. Also if you have not actually worked with others on quest progress by killing, you have not gotten any Exp for it. Theoretically a level 2 hero in maps. The biggest provlem in this theory of group selffound is, how to act with loot when you are part of the fight without kills, should you get Loot, then it is no more self made found and done. |

" Fair point, I would not be opposed to something like that implemented as a custom league at all. |

Here is how I would design a "group" SSF mode at first glance:
-: Every week, the players opting for the "SSF group" league would be put in random groups of 10-20 players. -: During this week these small groups can speak in a dedicated chat, make parties and trade between themselves freely. Ideally, a rudimentary message board. -: At the end of the week the groups get rerolled, but players can choose to keep some players in their group. It must be a common decisions. And here you have it: a mostly SSF experience, that can be completely ignored, which forces interactions for trade and cooperations, without the large trade spectrum that 'breaks' progression and which allows the possibility to "meet" random people in a controlled manner. Man, I would play so much more PoE if that existed. (Duh, it's taylor made). |
