Are there any games with a worse trade system?
Are there any games with a worse trade system?
No it simply doesn't exist, no one would ever take this risk regarding the mess it is with PoE and how controversed is this topic, no need to do much effort to see it's still the hottest topic since the game has been released and how many players left the boat due to that. Count how much time you spend per week trading and compare with total playtime ( and active one ). However all grindy games are adding time sinks you must understand that, sometimes it's with trading, sometimes they add useless content / tasks to slow down progression, and sometime you can't even access some gears if you don't wait ( i think it's actualy worst than we have ). If content can be done too fast without these sinks, players eventualy leave after a week. Congratulations for posting the #94543 thread asking for changes. At 100k we will eventualy have a dev manifesto explaining the previous one. If you want to buy me some more salt i've a good news, doing a good discount, last week, my trading "interactions" ended to be more terrible than in the past 5 years and i seriously started to wonder if it wasn't time to take the exit door, and it will probably end like that one day or the other, really soon. " Having item binding would at least be consequent and arguably it's better than what POE has. If there is no trade at all, drop rates can be adjusted accordingly so that slaying monsters can actually lead to gear improvements on a regular basis unlike here in POE where i have to do about 100+ maps to see one halfway decent item which remains usless until i invest another 100+ maps worth of currency into it to get the proper sockets, colors and links on it. POEs logic here simply sucks ass. They balance droprates around trading so that you are forced to trade to have some sense of progression, if you ever want to see endgame content even more so. But despite that they make the trading as hard as possible so that only the most hardcore market flippers will actually bother to use it regularly. Leading to a system where aproximately 1% of the players have the intended sense of progression by basically not playing the game at all while the other 99% who play the game the way it's supposed to by slaying monsters get like 1 useful item per 3 months. So no, there never was a worse system than this and there probably never will be. Having no system is better and having an AH is better 2 because both ways are logical and consequent. POE's system is neither of that. Last edited by Baharoth15#0429 on Oct 8, 2018, 7:46:44 AM

I don't think there is a game with more whiners about the trade system then PoE.

" This is just plain stupid. Like saying "we used to live without Internet and were a lot less informed and it wasn't really that bad." PoE trade whisper system is total crap, always has been, always will be. Only the no-lifers that are logged in all the time can see the WTB whispers. Everyone else is totally screwed on selling much. Why the hell should I be only notified while in-game? GGG should have coded a smart phone PoE sell app (Android and Iphone) from the get go and use instant messaging to notify sellers of a WTB and then allow the trade to take place entirely on the phone. That way everyone could sell gear as desired anytime as most of us always have a cell phone with us where we go. This would open up selling to a much larger % of the playerbase and also minimize the frustrations of buying (fewer unanswered WTBs). GGG is stupid to not do this as no other arpg currently does and GGG could be a pioneer in arpg trade innovation with a cell phone seller app. Edit: Saying "just play SSF if you don't like trading" is totally missing the point. We do want to trade as GGG wants us to do. Tying our hands behind our back and making us have to use a stone age primitive trade function is total bullshit. GGG can do much better and we should expect a much better trade experience than what PoE has (it's a fuckin' joke and I'm surprised GGG isn't ashamed of it). "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..." Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. In Marvel Heroes they didn't even have a trading system, you had to go find a secluded corner to drop the items you were exchanging. It was basically a fucking drug deal. In the early days when most people hung around Avengers Tower, said deals were often performed over by War Machine.
I guess you could say that at least PoE has a trade system, but that's like comparing a dumpster to a vat of acid, sure one is less heinous but that doesn't mean I want to jump into either. This is a buff™

entropia universe has an auction, but it is crippled with double fees (listing and sale, and that is real money cause it's a rme game btw!) and you can't select decimals on stackable item prices.
e.g. you can sell for 100% and 101% of item value, but not for 100.5% so players are all but forced to use stone-age p2p trade like we have here in poe so yeah, having an auction house but artificially crippling it is on par with how bad poe's trade system is. but other than that, I've seen none since I have no hope for significant game design improvements in this game I am officially done with Path of Exile. done for good

Nope, GGG's worst. And it makes it even more worse that they don't give a fuck about changing anything...
