Do people want this game as slow as Titan Quest?

Agreed. I can state "why back in the day I had to draw my own dungeon maps" or "I only had text output and had to visualize the room I was in" (a reference to the Zork series of adventures of which I own them all and they still can be played today on my Apple II+). Personal computer... what's that? I never saw a personal computer until my first semester of college and it was an Apple II in 1979. Millennials have no concept of a time without computers.

So yes, we agree that GGG has allowed PoE to go from the prospect of a real arpg better than D2 (or close to it) into a speed freaking twitch shooter fuckfest. Sad... very sad. But right now that is just so much water under the bridge for GGG and it's like the underlying theme of "The Land that Time Forgot" in that you can't try to go back or else you die. PoE is in this weird "skate or die" superposition in that GGG has to move forward fast and push out new leagues every 3 or 4 months or risk a player base collapse and a company crash and burn (I'd have an ulcer by now if I had to pay 100 employees just from players buying mtx. I'm glad that GGG has been successful with the "free to play" business model). Today the endgame of PoE is bad for GGG and it's bad for the 99% of players.

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

If you suck like I do, the game is more than slow enough. If I get a speed shrine I have to turn it off so I don't lose control of myself.
I know no one who want it to be slower. Actually if game moves faster, I would enjoy it.

Spoken like a true millennial. Damn it, I want my PoE turned up to ludicrous speed now with instant gratification set to max. Today's game players are all about the "twitch" factor. Anything less is no good. I guess they are all adrenaline junkies. Sad... very sad.  :(

What an extremly narrow minded and offensive steriotype. Some people like to grind, some don't. What does that have to do with being a millennial?
heh... millennial can't spell 'stereo'. Probably doesn't even know what one was.

Okay, as part of the Geezer Brigade here, I will put in my contrary opinion - I'm with poepoe091 - I play more now than I used to, so I have to assume the speed appeals to me.

But, to the Geezer point, I do play the game to my own speed, not MAXIMUM SPEED so I guess that conflicts somewhat. I will say I enjoy the game more now than years ago for the way I play it, I guess.

And, to add - I miss drawing maps on graph paper to games like Baldur's Gate. Until the combination of darkness and spin tiles screwed up your maps.

Old school dnd rpg like that and poe have very little in common. Speaking as someone who is all about clear speed, I enjoyed the heck out of games like icewind dale 2 and the likes but that was literally almost 2 decades ago. Games have changed and evolved since then and poe was simply never meant to be the succesor to isometric turn based dnd rpgs.

The solution is NOT to "force" down the clear speed. The solution is to provide reasons for players to WANT to "slow down". Reasons to "explore" a bit. Reasons to pick up some rares. Reasons to re-roll strong boxes.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
I think the ideal speed is somewhere between this and this.
