Do people want this game as slow as Titan Quest?

I love PoE, but honestly the "challenge" aspect seems to have gone down every league due to powercreep/clearspeed.

I love grim dawn/titan quest, and neither feels "too" slow. I personally played through the recent Grim Dawn expansion (Malmouth) and found it actually challenging even at a slower speed, allowing for more time to think/kite, the game felt more challenging (using cooldowns properly, kiting, using potion only as needed etc).

It's refreshing change of pace from bashing every potion cooldown mindlessly, spammimg 1 skill to blow up everything 2 screens away, and using a second ability only to travel.

Honestly, i think D3 has a good speed balance. The rest of the game sucks, but the pace seems good.

First, there are many more arpgs than you listed out there.why does everything needs to be compared to three arpgs makes little sense to me. And no, it really doesn't matter when a game was made

Second, op, you joined in 2012. And surel you played in 2013 right? There's your answer. Why specify abstract comparisons when there's a specific time period during which this very game was much slower.
And btw, in the ecosystem of all arpgs created titan quest isn't slow, far from it actually. It's on the faster side

It's Poe that is uncharacteristically lightning fast for an arpg with no real restriction or cap on movespeed and attack speed, not to mention laughable monster hp compare to player damage

I didn't get decent at the game until 3 years in at least. Every build I made int his game the first two years was "slow" by comparison to anyone.

So to say I've been playing since 2012/2013... yeah... but I didn't really understand how to make characters until probably 2016.

I'm not going to list every fucking ARPG. The question is to better understand the speed at which the community wants the game.

A simple "2012 poe" would have been fine.
I don't think community has a unified concept of that. A lot of people nowadays play poe precisely because of speed and they didn't play it back then.

Listing every fucking arpg would hopefully make you realize that it's poe and d3 that are outliers as far as speed goes. D2 lod too for some extreme cases like teleport spam. Your scale is simply off as most arpgs made would be below titan quest in speed. Play Diablo 1 without any mods and see how fast it is in terms of speed

I doubt the game could actually slow down enough to meet grim dawns speed but at the very least, monsters exist in that game. After they nerfed abyss monsters I didn't really notice them either.

I can't really get past tier 10 maps now because I get so bored since we became way to strong and way to fast for the game to keep up. I haven't really been engaged the past few leagues. Game balance is just to out of whack now for this to ever be fixed.

To and too - learn it please.

When players suggest to slow the game down, what does that mean exactly?

I see a lot of requests to slow the game down but rarely see any kind of description as to what speed they are referring to?

Here is how I would rank speed relative to other ARPGs. I'm ranking based on building for speed clearing and not "average" play.

-- Fast
POE

-- Medium
Diablo 3

-- Slower/Slow
Titan Quest/Grim Dawn

Where do you feel the ideal speed is for POE?

D3 medium ? lol
I like the speed, but the absolutely atrociously awful drops and weighted junk rolls, with the huge reliance on trading is too much.

That's the funny thing...

I think what drives people to build super clear speed is the "absolutely atrociously awful drops".

I know I build super fast because i don't want to feel like i get one unique or one decent rare per 5 hours.

If the drop rates were adjusted AND the game were slowed down I guess it wouldn't be too bad.

Feel free to go make your own topic then and list your own arpgs to create the proper scale... or list it here if you would like.

Where did I say I wanted a unified answer? This is general discussion which involves discussion... I know... crazy concept.
