Do people want this game as slow as Titan Quest?

As a fairly new player I don't have much knowledge about the older leagues speed, but honestly I can see why most people dump the game 2-3weeks into the league. It feels way too easy to achieve damage that is fully capable of 1hitting everything in T10+ maps with no issues at all.

A crazy notion; Most (if not all) of the bosses while leveling are harder than the t10-t13 bosses in the game.

When I started playing I assumed endgame would mean depth, hard bosses, tanky & hardhitting mobs that required me to jump back a tier or two mapwise to gear up and then proceed climbing.
That did not happen at all. I made a GC Miner, invested like 20c and I can steamroll pretty much everything up till t13 without any survivability or DPS issues at all. The depth really isn't there progression wise, I see loads of builds including a 2m+ DPS on shaper, but honestly who the hell needs that?

Another thing that from a new players perspective made me quite surprised, was that higher tier maps didn't have better loot than lower tier maps. Another issue that imo lowers the standard of depth and progression, if you can farm shaped channels with shitty gear till the league ends, whats the point? Just making new builds after clearing the lackluster endgame content over and over for 3months?

IMO, t10+ should have harder hitting mobs & a shitload of HP that increases exponentially for each tier, as well as a higher drop multiplier for x drops. Which would require players to actually GEAR UP before being able to clear the higher tier maps efficiently and therefor rewarding them for progressing further. And keep in mind, it could affect the speed of progression (but at the same time reward players who progressed further gearwise), but not the actual gameplay speed.

Just my two cents.

To put things into perspective, I've played wanderer, sunder builds & a glacial hammer inq and they all acted accordingly. Even though I'll admit, GC is broken.
So why the fuck you going all in on a fucking explanation on how stupid shit is when you play a GC miner dude.

A little like when you complain game is too easy and boring but at the same time you got friends giving you 5000 chaos before you start playing a league.

He's playing a meta build, what's your point exactly? You play those every single league.

You realize most efficient tactic available doesn't imply those tactics should be capable of pissing all over the content right?
Just a thought, i know you hate those.

Let me start saying that PoE is for me the best contemporary ARPG.
Still, coming from an old generation of videogames, I would like it to be a tad slower.

In slower games each action has a more meaningful and appreciable conseguence, you can hit a skeleton with your hammer and see it crumble... or you can block an arrow with your shield and actually see it happening.

In PoE everything is so fast, here the action is mainly hitting your attack button and watch the screen to explode while keeping an eye on your life pool, you lose all the details.

That said, there's no way to change to pace backwards without a complete rebirth of the game.
Everything should be changed accordingly... from loot, to experience gained etc.

I think there's no real economical interest in doing such an overhaul... for the simple fact that the new, younger, audience likes fast paced games... probably unware of what they are missing.

Old schoolers, like me, will just have to adapt.

Thread is more applicable to PoE2 than PoE. This game is what it is and not much is going to change... at least not by design. I'd hope PoE2 would be slower than PoE currently is. I'd also hope that development was better planned so that the game wouldn't get out of control like PoE has.

GGG has done a great job. They haven't bowed to irrational pressures from players to a great degree. They haven't raised the level cap just so players could have a bigger number. (knock on wood) Hope they've learned a lot from the mistakes they made, and I really hope they're working on a sequel.
I dunno, I understand the complaints (and even share some), but in the end, I've never played more than I play now. Speed is fun to me.
