Meanwhile Bisco is 18+ Ex

Personally, I like the change of rarity on Bisco's very much. It has now turned into a chase item worth chasing, and unlike last league you may actually want to sell the amulet instead of using it. Choice. Decisions. Me like.
Straw Polls will save humankind! It is known!
Okay there is a lot of misinformation in this thread.

1. Bisco is the most broken item in the game right now.
It acts as having about 40%+ quantity on your gear, and it all comes from a single item.

Check out cutedog_ and empyriangaming bisco tests, the results are very clear.
It is OP as f.

2.
Quantity affects currency drops.
It also affects everything else, but since you probably use a loot filter you will mainly notice it on currency drops.

3.
Biscos does not work like quantity does.
It does not show up on your profile, it is not included in the quantity calculation.
It is a unique effect.

4.
There is a ongoin debate that biscos increases map drops,
with many known players stating their experience.
It is most likely unintentional but according to many high level players biscos DOES boost map drops.
We dont know for sure yet.

The argument that quantity does not affect map drops is invalid, because biscos effect is a unique one and has nothing to do with the quantity calculation.
In that sense it is true that quantity does not affect map drops, but biscos might still affect map drops.

Ofcourse it does,it is not profile quantity but special multiplier just like the maps use
That is why fishing rods drop much more too, even tho they normally do not get increased chances with IR and IQ.

Some people also suggest biscos will give you 2 fishes for single bait.
Empyrian was doing test on the "Biscos" affects maps thing on his "at the time" on stream sample size of 60 strand with and 60 without biscos.
The increase WITH Biscos was always a consistent 40ish strand maps over not using Biscos (he ended up with like 105ish without and 160ish with cant remeber exact number).
Obviously a sample size of 120 isn't enough but for now all signs sure point to the fact that Biscos might affect map drops, that and the fact that it doesn't show up in your stat screen has been kinda sketch.
Dunno why people are so adamant towards it, GGG might've messed up.
Especially considering that this is the expansion where the coding on an item created an insane jewel despite it clearly not following the wording on the item.

Confirmation bias? I was able to maintain t16 maps last league. This league t12 is about the mark. Seems pretty legit

Yeah? This league is notoriously bad for map drops and I'm still maintaining my red maps (T12+). Biscos is snake oil. Just like chaining vaults. The masses are sheep bb

Hey, I could be right or wrong about it, but pretending to think I know I am right rustles the fuck out of some jimmies around here.

What I do know is that I chained guardians last league, and I haven’t gotten close this league. Biscos could have been a factor
I have a legacy and this was back when they cost nothing. I can do 13s or so continuously with it on which means I can progress the char and also get mostly rare drops for chaos recipe. I guess the value of it is nice but I can't see myself selling it ever until my dude is finished. I think it's one of the most OP items in the game.

Yeah but a couple streamers on youtube ran like 100 maps a piece and found more maps with it so obviously biscos effects drop rates. It's kind of like how I've played slot machines around 100 times in my life and won a bit over 5 grand so obviously the machine will pay me out 5 grand every 100 tries or so, that's the logic these people are using, lol well that and the fact people are trying to justify wasting 15ex an a biscos so they will cling to any napkin math theory that makes them feel better about themselves.

You are aware of the fact that statistics is a pretty exact science, right? And the underlying statistical distributions (binomial distributions, mostly) are pretty well understood and can be both calculated explicitly and estimated pretty well using Gaussian distributions.

So it is pretty clear whether the result is significant or not, the only question is at what significance level you are willing to reject the null hypothesis ('Bisco's does not influence map drops').
Un-gate content.
