youve trashed the game
" They can get crazy, but I wouldn't mind it too much if they didn't drop anywhere and couldn't be currency spammed, that's my main beef. Of course, some mods are currently bollocks but that can be adjusted and perma is already awash in legacy gear so who cares. I mean, compare this to talismans to get the feel of mechanic power creep, it's ridiculous. Talismans drop only from one specific monster, are corrupted and you have to bother upgrading them to have a chance at the really good stuff. Also, we should keep in mind talismans are league items so they can be slightly broken. One more problem I'm expecting in the future is introducing league mechanics that are broken enough not to get overshadowed by the shaped/elder hunt. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

I tried to sink 1000 alterations on a Shaper item, just to get a better feeling of what I am dealing with.
I got 2 possibly interesting outcomes, but the following Regal bricked. This is by no means proof of anything, still, my feeling so far is that to actually get a GG item, you need to be : 1, lucky as hell 2, already rich as hell Right now, I do not fear that GG SHaper items will overtake our word any time soon |

Well, in leagues, they are probably properly balanced. On Standard, someone will come up with those GG items and offer mirror services on them.
Not sure that is a good thing. On the other hand, they are interesting items. Also I do not really think that they will fully replace existing mirror items. Some of them just give you more links, which not all builds need. However, others give global bonuses, which is more questionable. Still, right now, I am a bit more relaxed about them than I was in the beginning, except for the global added damage modifiers, they should re-think those. The best of these new items I could find in a quick search on Standard btw is a shield: 9% increased Movement Speed 40% of Block Chance applied to Spells +31 to Evasion Rating +129 to maximum Life Recover 5% of Energy Shield when you Block Recover 4% of your Maximum Life when you Block (crafted) 10% increased Elemental Damage with Attack Skills Shaped There is also a rather retarded physical spell dagger: 30% increased Global Critical Strike Chance Socketed Gems are Supported by Level 20 Faster Attacks 20% increased Attack Speed 30% increased Critical Strike Chance for Spells +46 to maximum Mana Gain 39% of Physical Damage as Extra Cold Damage Gain 38% of Physical Damage as Extra Lightning Damage (crafted) +22% to Global Critical Strike Multiplier Shaped That one is just rather retarded for certain builds. Remove Horticrafting station storage limit. Last edited by Char1983#2680 on Dec 15, 2017, 8:36:48 AM

Currency should never be the deciding factor of balance since it simply pushes the haves further away from the have not's making the disparity in achievable power more apparent between them creating community rifts.
The example above for example, 1000 alterations? That's nothing, when your spending on average 2000 for a t1 physical mod before the regal attempt. And people who are rich do this "on the fly". Spending around 15000 alterations to end up with a base-line craft-able base is normal in PoE. And we just entered the league, wait until proficient crafters get lvl 8 benches to lock prefixes and suffixes to really get a scope of achievable results. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

" Again, stop talking bullshit. In order to get the best possible rolls (and some rolls that are only possible at 85+ with the new ilvl values) you need to do the hardest content in the game, which is tier 16. Then you have to roll the items the right rolls that fit your build, then they have to be good values. That is not easy by any stretch of the imagination, and anyone that says otherwise is full of bullshit. |

" Rarity of an item does account for balance, otherwise items like Shavs/Kaoms would never have remained as powerful as they are/were. GGG has no issues with powerful builds if you have to expend currency and time, which is why Shavs despite the fact that it is an abomination of an item still remains BiS for all supports period and alot of other builds for pure DPS, end of story. Again, I think people are looking at this the wrong way. People are seeing all this offensive power and yet have totally glossed over some of the more insane defensive modifiers that are available such as free 20+ auras, physical damage taken to elemental damage conversions, %life that can stack with a high life roll, etc. Having a more efficient damage gem setup because of the new gem affixes can open up other more interesting possibilities for defensive setups, which I suspect will be useful in the next upcoming major patch. Yes it's a power creep; it's the kind of power creep that is in the right direction though. It's not like these items are SUPER unobtainable like Atziri Acuity, however they are not so easily obtainable that everyone will have the best rolled items in the game. " Or you can just buy it from someone and roll any combination that could be sold well. If at some point this game started to roll around getting the exact rare or unique your build needs I was probably out of the country at the moment so I missed it. I'm sure people are running the lab on 1/500 chance to get the exact helm enchant they need, eh? I don't think anyone is claiming it's easy, but we'll see if it's easier than it should be. " Yes it is because i dont have all days for PoE. I have some time for it. Also i dont want spent all days on farming low tier maps - its boring. |

" Even if you buy it, you still have to roll it to the correct values. Getting all tier 1 values is going to be insanely hard. Lab Enchants are easier to get then rolls. You get double rolls every time, and you are generating currency based off of other items/currency you find. Rolling Shaper items is literally burning currency every, single, time. |

" I respect that information, but that amount is nowhere near where I get to in any temporary league, let alone spend it on single item. In my book, that is very expensive, available to only tiny fraction of top players and therefore not ruining the game for the rest of the (more) common folk like me. But again - I can only speak for my perspective of temp-league-only player. And I only hunt challenges mostly, so about 40 exalts is the top wealth I ever had in one league. |
