Am I the only one who likes the double life bosses?

"Engaging" Or"he attacks me with his "auto" attack longer than he did before". When someone defends something, atleast make it sound good...
I mean, don't you know that spider in arachnid tomb? IT COMES TO YOU AND HITS YOU WITH THE SAME ATTACK UNTIL IT DIES!!!!!!!!!! So engaging,i actually have to learn to play!!!Oh wait i just need a bigger sword.... Fun fact. No boss lives longer than a second,no need to tell me to get better single target damage,i probably kill them faster than you. Don't buff health, make the fight engaging and put some drops at the end. Even if they suck, you will still feel better. People don't hate on bosses for having more HP,people hate that instead of a boss,we get a GLORIFIED mob. That's not fun. " A glorified mob that doesnt even have much higher chance for good loot. Case in point, just did t14 Shrine. Trash dropped two t15's and a t14. Piety? Dropped a white, 2 blues and a yellow. Why did I bother with her? |

Problem now is trash mobs give better loot per second than bosses. In most cases you kill it anyways but on certain maps with certain affixes, it's just a unrewarding pain to fight the boss and you might not want to risc losing 10% exp for trashy loot you get from normal monsters anyway.
The only motivation to kill bosses no matter the difficulty would be to guarantee a equal Tier or +1 Tier Map drop. Last edited by PayneK#3102 on Sep 5, 2017, 3:36:35 AM

After finally having a vault map in Harbinger and even running it with increased boss life mod and not seeing any live forever and leave no gold piles to loot after I can now confidently say that I love the change all around. You have to actually pay attention to mechanics all except the mirror of mirror builds and such or just flat out broken setups. You can still beat them down fast as long as your dps is up to snuff, hell they actually feel like a DPS gate in a good way. You either have a build ready to take on tier x boss health or you need to farm more because the length of the boss fight if you are too weak can be deadly since you can't facetank in most high end cases.

" I wouldn't say that this is entirely true, some builds still trivialise content, balancing a game is never as simple as "lets just buff the monster life", the balance needs to be aimed towards the mechanics that are trivialising the content not the content being trivialised. For some builds the increased boss life is just an annoyance and gives people more reason just to skip bosses as 9/10 they yield a meagre reward for your time, and as I said before the increased life on bosses can go by mostly unnoticed for other builds. |
|
" Honestly I think blindly increasing all boss life is just a lazy to to attempt to patch the game, it just creates a bigger divide between what is considered a good build and what isn't. |

" I do agree that like above, bosses need to have more mechanics in general. But other than that, increased life is kind of needed because what else would they do? Give them obscene resists or defenses to achieve the same result as throwing life at them? Make them have periods of immortality and immune to damage? I am hoping the life was just a start because they needed the life to last a bit longer for more mid tier players that don't clear speed the game but don't lollygag either because now they can do an atlas 2.0 and add in new maps from 3.0 additions change bosses around and give them mechanics when possible. Although I feel like we couldn't have a unanimous decision on what is a good enough unique mechanic and what isn't. I feel like a lot of boss attacks like vaal cities lightning strike are just brushed off because we got used to the whole, "she ded 2 seconds, you call that ls a fight mechanic?" Setting. Yes, these bosses are just supped up normal mobs... That also have a unique means of fighting for their normal mob base. You can only squeeze in so many mechanically interesting fights before those fights become stale too. "It's all clearer now

The good thing about increasing boss life by 250% is that it forces players to go meta builds or go home.
You don't want to use Barrage or TS for a ranged build? Nope. You want to play Ignite or Puncture? Nope. You want to play some mediocre spell build and use some Vaal skill and Vaal Lightning Trap for single-target? Nope. You want to play DD, Caustic Arrow or Explosive Arrow? lol nope. You want to play ED or Spark? Nope. You want to be hipster and experiment? Nope. Last edited by Blarggh#3339 on Sep 5, 2017, 8:28:46 AM

" this ... 100% this ..the double life buff on bosses just makes you realize how shitty 95% of skills in this game are and forces you to play only meta |
