Am I the only one who likes the double life bosses?
" I do have the dmg and kill bosses pretty quickly and I do roll my maps well. Im not new to the game. I know that about 1 in 100 bosses does drop good loot, but for the other 99 kills you get loot thats hardly worth picking up or using a wis scroll on it. Please spare me the myth bosses are generally dropping loot thats worth the effort. We all know its just not true. In this game bosses are hardly more than glorified rares, doesnt matter how much hp they have. Last edited by Orbaal#0435 on Sep 3, 2017, 7:48:58 AM

" absolutely correct and they will remain that way until they get a fixed lootpool like exiles do with higher ratio on uniques and well rolled rares. |

" The fact that you got something from a boss is just random. I ran a corrupt, around 200 quan t16 map with a breach that dropped NOTHING (no good yellows, no currency above chance, no maps, nothing except shaper fragment from the guardian). Then I dropped an exalt from a barrel in a white map. The point is (which you have managed to miss) is that the bosses ARE NOT WORTH THE TIME. Wast majority of them doesn't have anything remotely interesting going for them in terms of the fight itself, they provide no challenge, and no reward. Just a waste of time, and if you have the sustain, you will drop the boss even if it has 10x the HP. It's just a stupid chore. Yet everything else, white, blue, yellow monsters, melt in less than a second. This is unbalanced. Either slow down the entire game by increasing everyone's HP accordingly, or drop this BS with new boss HP (or AT LEAST give them something worthwhile). And also, it's amusing how nobody at GGG thought that multiplying ALL map bosses HP by 2 makes some of them much more dangerous, while barely affecting others. I especially hate the new warband and rogue exile bosses. With extra modifiers sometimes they can take almost as much time to kill as a freaking guardian, I mean what the hell is this crap?? And for what? For vendor trash uniques and MAYBE a map? Absolute BS. Last edited by MECHanokl#1095 on Sep 4, 2017, 4:21:58 AM

I wish they had 20x health. Give a little mmo raid action to this game with long haul boss fights.
Git R Dun!

Boss life doesn't really matter for my build, as it was made for guardians anyway.
But it felt quite bad, when I did not have any gear at all, so not sure about it, at least we could get some rewards for spending taht extra 20 sec to kill them. Last edited by krenderke#3861 on Sep 4, 2017, 7:23:40 AM

@ Orbaal - I never said ppl kill bosses for loot lol, ppl kill bosses cos they can drop 2 tiers higher maps...
@MECHanokl - no shit it's random, but ppl kill bosses cos they can drop 2 tiers higher maps and they often enough do drop them. Why would i skip on a chance of getting those, if it takes me a handful of secs to kill the boss anyway lmao? The bosses ARE worth the time, cos it takes me maybe 2 secs longer to kill them now and they can drop 2 tiers higher maps. Like how are you ppl not aware of this lmao? Get some single target damage and stop QQ. Their hp was buffed cos they got rekt too fast before and now provide more of a challenge to most players, cos they can't be burned down in 3 secs. Like are you seriously whining about a few more seconds lol? Man some ppl... You don't seem to understand that they were too ez b4, so now they got brought back to the normal lvl, cos damage etc has gone up since most of them were released. Power creep man, now atleast they take some effort and you get a chance at 2 tiers higher maps etc. You can't cheese bosses with a build that's meant for clearspeed/aoe anymore. You need to get some SINGLE TARGET DAMAGE and stop QQ already. It's like you ppl wanna get an exalt or smth for having to fight a boss for a few more secs lmao. Well, I came to this game from a different background (D2/D3/Titan Quest), and I was used to the idea of farming bosses for top-tier loot. When I started playing PoE in Legacy, the two things that immediately surprised me were a) how easy the bosses were, especially with the mechanic that allows you to die and return to the fight without the instance being reset, and b) how miserable the loot from the bosses was. Then I read a bit about it on the forums, realized that GGG designed the game like that on purpose to deter people from farming specific bosses for specific items, and said to myself: ok, this game is not about bosses, no problem.
But now they've buffed the boss HP in 3.0 without buffing the loot, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. Now having to fight bosses feels more like a "tax" that you have to pay to progress through the game rather than a proper challenge with proper rewards. Looks like GGG did it simply to slow down the players' progress, in conjunction with the blanket nerfs in 3.0... Fuck master rotas. Fuck any kind of rotas, for that matter.

I think for me the bigger elephant in the room is the new leveling content. The boss mechanics for the acts are so well done in my view that they further show the age of map bosses being "beefed up normal mobs". I can't wait for a potential atlas overhaul and polishing pass that brings it up to the new standards.
I'll enjoy PoE either way, but you can feel the difference in content aging the moment you hit maps after the epilogue (in many ways). Throw some more bosses with phases / mechanics in and reward players with trophies for their hideouts if they manage to do the mechanics properly or something. I know I'd grind them all out, but I'm also biased. "Life is weighted dice. You have some control over the outcome, but you'll never win if you don't roll."
