I played PoE in Prophecy b4 i quit and came back and had all kinds of chars back then, they were deleted cos i didn't think i'd ever play PoE again. Shut the fuck up and play with a 4L skill. Done. But wait!! You complain about power creep but seek out the most dps weapons and best 6 links!!??? It's all gear and very little skill. These false aspirations of POE being the Dark Souls of isometric ARPGs is asinine. Even discussing anything with them is useless. There are some posters on here that do anything thing to take apart peoples argument while at the same time missing the point. The speed limit analogy was the best and shows how stupid these people are. "If I designed the game, tier 5 maps would be as high as anyone would get." " Well I would say it is 90% preparation, 5% gear 5% skill. But other than, that I would agree on most of your points. At the same time for the map boss thing I would like to have some mechanics as well, not a level 80 cap WoW raid kind of complications, but some form of interesting thing to do instead of facetanking uninteresting things, of course only as long as it gets rewarded, not like that idiot mob on some map where you have to run trough traps to fight it 3 times (not izaro) Because let's be clear, what's better? Holding rightclick for 60 seconds on a mapboss, and getting no loot, or having something else going on and getting rewards? I don't mean white map tier bosses would need this, but like high end maps could, like new T16s or something. For example the new act bosses might be a good example, I like those fights a lot, has a little twist, feels like a boss fight. If it came with fights that evolve into phases on a fairly sized arena then it's ok. Most of the Pantheon bosses, Avarius even Kitava are good examples. The usual map bosses that you can kill in seconds (for OP builds) without any stages just got longer or made portals useful again. It's a step, but lacking execution when it comes to mechanics.
