Nazibanners in 3.0! Why?

There's always someone throwing a fit over a complete non-issue, it's hilarious. Why not complain that at the beginning of act 5, your character helps a horde of barbarians to kill heaps of mere civilians, like that's a perfectly normal thing to do? But no, you get triggered by some flags instead, ridiculous.

If anything it's more like a portrayal of how the Templar act in this game.

They have been acting very mean towards the Karui and many Karui have suffered from their abuses.

This. Jesus Christ OP it's obviously a comparison of the templars. OP is a troll or doesn't understand the concept of references.

Fuck Nazis for ruining my culture's history by plaguing the world with their false symbolism. The amount of hate I received as a child because of this ignorance pisses me off.

The Swastika was stolen from Hindu culture. The Swastik which represents the power of luck and Surya (sunlight) is a powerful symbol of POSITIVITY in my religion and is seen as one of the primary symbols of Ganesha.

You want to be offened? Be offended that Nazi's and their shitty hate rhetoric has marred a beautiful religious symbol an ancient religion. Don't be offended by some pseudo-resemblance of that emblem in some video game.

I remember randomly deciding learning random symbols of various cultures was suddenly my desire to read about in life when I was like 9. Came upon the swastika, already knowing about Nazis and got very very confused. Not that it was originally from another culture no, but that now at almost 25, I still can't wrap my head around why the almighty Aryan race of perfection(/s) needed to steal their symbol from a culture that is obviously non-Aryan in any capacity in origin. It is still absolutely baffling and I will never get over it. But I suppose it goes perfectly along with how it seems that 99% of Nazis and neo-Nazis would be executed by their own "master race" if they ever actually got their way as they are undoubtedly non-Aryan.

More on topic, after originally leaving this thread alone, I am still at awe at how OP got offended by the connected symbolism but didn't even stop to think about why GGG purposely made Oriath's symbols and behavior literally translate to a Nazi-esque holy cleansing.
"It's all clearer now
And I hear her now
And I'm nearer to
The Salvation Code"
really we do lots of kinda bad things in PoE

I dont see any any key!

There's an expression involving glass houses and stones I really think you should look into.

just this, ppl are trying way to hard to find Nazis or just plain old Racism everywhere.

Are all the people expressing blindness in this thread for real? GGG quite obviously took Nazi regalia and replaced the swastika with an Oriathan symbol. They base much of the art in the game on real life items. This is no exception. The level of willful delusion and intense denial of reality in this thread is amazing, though sadly not surprising given how popular reality denial has become among the worst segments of the population.

If something hurts your feelings, that doesn't make it fake news. If you don't like a fact, it's still a fact. No matter how distasteful you personally find reality, that doesn't stop it from being reality.

@Pleiades

thats basically a long story that dates back several centuries way before the iceage happened, from Rungholt that sunk, to the christians, to the rats, to refugeewaves before and after the worldwars, this region has always been a melting pod, if Death gets bored he makes his holidays here.
Always relying on imports of fresh meat, makes it hard to pinpoint what Aryan-DNA is, but blonde hairs help. Aryan by itself is actually indo-Iran.

can't be arsed to read 3 pages of shit-thread to see if this was already brought up, but the real problem here is not the pseudo-nazi imagery but the fact that GGG is so damned unoriginal with this whole approach.

When I first saw the stahlhelm xbow guys I was just like "no, plz tell me they did not do this!" and when I actually saw the banners it was facepalm city.

OTOH, I have to address the ppl who say this isn't an issue because there's no real resemblance there: Don't be stupid. You're being it right now. But the rest of us are not, and we can tell. The resemblance is about as strong as could be made without PoE stirring up some real furor.
To me the use of nazi in a roman environment look intentional and I think they could have done it an other way without removing the feeling they wanted. Actually it just look like poor design/lack of creativity or maybe they just won't take enough time to make things done.

By the way piety with her cap always evoke me some vaffen SS and her laboratory full of body recall me holocaust.
