Post your reason why you hate doing labs.

This is slightly off topic but since the thread topic is so suggestive...

I dont hate Lab. It can be annoying but it is also rewarding and a good barrier for getting 'power ups'. If you know the probabilities of getting the right enchantment and still gamble to get it: unlucky.

One thing I do agree on: disconnects. Hate them during lab. However, they don't occur more often in lab to my experience.
I skip the lab with my characters for several reasons:

- I pay for uber lab carry service because...

-- disconnects
-- lags
-- Izaro mechanics (unpredictable) are only for top geared boss killers
-- TRAPS are easy cake for some characters, almost instant death for others
-- annyoing map layouts with too much backtracking (wrong exit... again?)

I´m just doing labs for the ascendancy nodes and I´m glad when I don´t have to revisit ever again.
I'm lazy & never get an enchant I need.

GGG needs to implement some sort of item that can take an enchant off of "X" helm, and make it a "consumable" type item you can then click to put on another.

I like this idea, but instead, the enchantment from the lab should be an unidentified consumable. I think that it makes more sense for a trade based game like PoE and players who farm Uber Izaro would be able to get a little more out of their runs while grinding for the mod they want.

Staying on topic, the one thing I don't like about the lab is that vaal skills are unusable on Izaro.

labyrinth is supposed to be challenging content, your post rather confirms that it is still that way.

I will disagree with you. Strongly.

Your definition does not match my definition.

Dark Souls is challenging, and we like it for being so.

The Lab is an annoying, tedious chore. It's quite literally the first thing I've come across in PoE that makes me go, "Fuck me, I really don't want to do this."

So I'll appreciate you dropping the charade of 'git gud lol' and acknowledge that someone else might have a legitimate concern. And rest assured, there is one to be found.

Tankier characters breeze through it. Squishier casters are constantly harried. This means there's a balance issue. The 'Go Back To Start' mentality is straight bullshit. Even oldschool games had 'lives' for a reason. But this...? No. A disconnect is no reason to waste an hour and a half of my life. Lag is no reason to send me back to the beginning. A framerate drop is hardly an excuse to end an otherwise flawless run.
I found completing the labyrinth was fun and rewarding experience. I'm not one to "spam" anything. I like completing the entire atlas because doing 1k+ shape strands didn't appeal to me.

My biggest gripe would be how much it favorus armour-based builds.

After reading some of the replies to the thread I'm really frustrated with those complaining about the lab enchants. If you don't like lab, then do what you do like and make money to buy the lab enchant instead.

If you use a weird unique helm then that's the price you pay. This isn't anything new. Unique 6 links are incredibly more expensive than a solid rare 6L. That's part of what makes the items UNIQUE.

maybe you forgot to read one of my replies in page 10?

//////////////////////////////////////////////////extracted from page 10/////////////////////////////

Just take the 0.26% helmet enchantment mod for example... It's a freaking unrealistic chance to get the desired enchantment, and damn its not even 1% chance. Do the math, it's almost impossible to get it by yourself.

I know stubborn people will give the "why not just buy it" argument , but they forgot that the supply of helmet enchantments for a specific helmet is NEARLY NON EXISTENT for niche builds or non meta builds. Just go to POE trade and filter online or offline sellers and search for a hrimnor resolve helmet with the +40% flameblast damage enchantment. Total supply is ZERO. I have tried asking for it in trade chat but nobody has it or bothers to reply because we all know that the helmet is a non meta build and most probably few people would even bother to sacrifice their precious lab enchantment on that "shitty" non meta helmet. This is just one example.

Normally, there will be some vocal players saying that lab "does not sucked" and "is good" but I can safely tell you this that those people are just casuals or blind fanbois who knows shit about this game. When asked about why Lab is good, they usually became mute all of a sudden.

Note: if they wish to debate on why lab is good versus why lab is cancer, I would gladly welcome it but please not in this thread because its irrelevant to the topic of discussion.

Voicing out irrelevant stuff only gives the other people the impression that you do not understand what the topic is about or you lack the intelligence to make relevant and/or intelligent comments.

What's your problem with players liking lab? How dare I have fun. This isn't a debate. You can't convince me that I don't have fun going through lab.

I don't like hardcore. I think racing is stupid and boring. Am I going to actively dissuade people from doing what they enjoy because I don't like doing something? Obviously not.

I've changed my mind about what I like least about lab. The worst part of lab is the players complaining about it.

Do you have trouble understanding it? In case you do not know the meaning of it, let me give you a thorough explanation.

This thread is specifically and intentionally labelled/titled , "Post your reason why you hate doing labs" , which means that it is a thread created for discussion based on why you hate the lab, NOT why you like the lab.

That's the reason why every thread has titles because it's the topic of discussion.

Just imagine that someone created a thread that is for "ABC" for example, then someone made a post in his thread relating to "123", which is totally irrelevant.

Would it be a nuisance?

Would it reflect his intelligence to make relevant and/or intelligent comments?

It's fine and acceptable to give the same old "you have your right to voice out your opinion" argument...

But think again, are you making any relevant and/or intelligent comments here?

Actually, the worse part of lab is the players who hated the "people who hated the lab" and talking their irrelevant crap here which clearly demonstrated their inability to understand the topic of discussion and thus, make any relevant or intelligent comments.

Corrected it for you.

The problem is that people coming in to voice their dissent with the framing of the discussion is true. You made the thread clearly anti lab and others and I came in to say we like it/tolerate it.

Yes, it is technically "off topic" but the reason this irks you is because you clearly wanted an echo chamber. That is the precise reason I originally voiced my opinion. Echo chambering is going to do nothing but convince you that you are in the "right" and everybody who disagrees is an idiot.

You made the thread clearly for an anti lab echo chamber. Guess what, there are already hundreds of other threads you could have posted in instead starting yet another useless crap thread. So already technically spam. Two, you are going to get people putting threads like this "off topic" precisely because your methods of starting the conversation is just aggravatingly simple minded because, like I said above, you likely just wanted validation of your opinion, not actual discussion. Hence, there were all these circle jerk "(anti lab quote here) (Response akin to "You have a great opinion! Good Job!")" earlier.

Third, as I usually input in anti lab threads frequently. People are much more likely to voice dissent rather than approval. You don't actively go and find managers to compliment waiters for passable-amazing service all the time. But you are definitely going to go bitch those same waiters out if the service is shitty. The lab is no different. Furthermore, those who do bother to voice pro lab ideas are less likely to start a thread approving of the lab, where disapproval are many. So is it so shocking that pro labbers/neutral labbers are willing to occasionally hijack anti lab threads off topic to voice their opinion when they don't have a strong platform of their own/want to break up the circle jerk?
