Dual wield Brutus' Lead Sprinkler (if it works like HoWA you will have to dw it for double damage). Use Xoph's Heart or Astramentis, Albernon's Warpath, probably Devoto's. Fill out jewel slots with Emperor's Might, Emperor's Mastery and as many Brawns as you can before you get to less than 111 Int.
ST + Inc Crit + Inc Crit Dmg + WED + GMP + Fire Pen.
Sustain is solved by the Berserker Ascendancy. The problems I see are reflect and PC generation, not sure how to go at these...

Btw. Iron Grip doesn't work since it applies the bonus to PHYSICAL Melee Damage to projectiles. This is a 100% fire dmg build without conversion, hence it doesn't get the str bonus.


How much strength you end up with? I am theorycrafting a brutus warchief chieftain atm.

I actually already tried scourge necromancer with broken faith this league, broken faith and the block trigger didnt end up beeing very good so i switched out for a high es/health shield and switched to spirit offering (which, is pretty much the same in terms of dps). I can tell from personal experience, that the hoops you need to jump through are not going to make up for actual performance. Also, to fully utilize all of the effects of bone offering, you'll have to go hybrid and slot corrupted energy, that puts a considerable stress on gearing (corrupting crap). That said, i was rather pleased with the builds complexity, more so if broken faith gets buffed to usability.

Currently, even if you completely optimize for such a character, assassin with its crit damage and poison on top of the bleed just ends up beeing more damage and survivability. Even with scourge. Mostly because you dont need a damn support for poison. And then because assassin poison does twice as much as others. All that while beeing much easier to use, because you dont need to keep your eye on the offering timer.

edit: and when i say offering "timer" i mean the icon disapearing. Because we cant have a countdown on it. No sir.

Aren't broken Faith really good now though? Get a lot of block -> easy Unholy Might.

A lv 21 Bone offering slotted into a +2 Minion helm would net you 63% block / 36% Spell Block. And you can still run things like Rumi's for more block and Sin's Rebirth for keeping up Unholy Might.

I am not saying it wont work, or that unholy might will be hard to keep up or anything.

The main issue is that you need to go hybrid or ci or your lifepool will suck. Going CI will mean you give up on the tasty tasty bone offering health when block portion, which means you want to go hybrid.

Hybrid means, you need to find a way to make your life/es pool uniform damage buffers for most things. Which means http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Corrupted_Energy for me. My scourge-knight build for this league looked like this, for reference:

You can easily get a ~12k buffer and are all but immortal against small frequent hits. Mom is there so you wont get instagibbed by one giant physical hit. Auras were poachers mark level 1 clarity and discipline, plus vulnerability in a bottle (forgot the potion name). I threw out broken faith pretty early, because its buff was inconsistent and switched bone offering for spirit offering, which meant that overall CI would have been much better. Post patch, that obviously isnt true anymore and its a solid choice.

The thing is, we are comparing effort vs reward here. Assassin would have gotten much easier poison in the build, gets much higher poison damage and bleed/maim on top. It also gets much higher base damage because they crit like crazy. They dont have any issues going straight CI, because thats a no-brainer if they arnt giving up anything. On top of that, they dont need to worry about keeping the offering up. It isnt hard to do it, but its a PITA after a while. Even if you are a lazy fuck like me and made it a one button press thing:

Again, not bashing the build whatsoever. Its mechanically complicated and a really well thought out build that uses all of the ascendency points and passives super efficiently. It just doesnt hold a candle to Asassin aka. "ggg took everything that was OP and threw it in one ascendency."

What downside? Equip Self-Flagellation and get 160% increased damage for your totems, lel. Even with enfeeble lvl 20 your dps is way better than with other chestpiece.
(OFC it's not HC viable, since bosses in red maps probably will one-shot you)
I have mixed feelings about the fact that Belt of the Deceiver is now a DPS belt.
