I've had the above grin on my face for so long, that the muscles in my face have to force themselves into a somewhat more neutral expression. People IRL have even made remarks about me seeming more cheerful and jubilant. My response is: It's the election. Couldn't be happier that Trump won. Couldn't be happier that left is in tears over it. I'm pumped!

Gorsuch on the Supreme Court? HELL YES. That puts a quick and abrupt end to the bullshit from activist judges in the lower courts, and Trump is likely to win a Supreme Court challenge for his immigration executive order now. They might even determine he has the authority to do something even tougher! And it's extremely likely 1-2 more justices resign, or die of natural causes, in which Trump can just appoint another strict constitutional judge to the court again. Find someone in their mid 40s, who we're likely to get 30 years out of.

Edit: Seriously though this kind of thinking is how hitler and the national socialist obtained the 'legal authority' that led to the final solution.

First demonize and villain-ize(!) a given segment of the population - scary brown people are taking our jobs, resources and are more likely to be criminals!!. Then use the power of the state to systematically to suppress them and take their rights, don't even need to they're already illegal! Next comes mass deportations. This is where things got complicated for the nazis as no one would take all their jews and so they came up with the 'final solution' to their jew problem.

Anyway, sure come by legal means but at the same time don't sensationalize the 'threat' illegals pose.

See, this is what people mean when they say that someone "has drunk the kool-aid". When some shit happens you refuse to look at it objectively if it hurts the image of "your side".

You could have said: "What Spicer said was dumb, but not morally wrong, he chose the wrong words, and that's all, he didn't try to deny the holocaust (like some people are accusing him)"

This way you would be defending your side while acknowledging a mistake. That is like the best you could do since there is no way to twist all that to sound like what Spicey said wasn't dumb or wrong.

Trump is in power and republicans control everything, but that doesn't mean the ones who lost will hide under a rock now.
