Can't exactly buff life just like that because then there would be no incentive not to go life for them instant pots. It has to have a drawback compared to ES. The problem is that non-telegraphed One-Shot-Mechanics negate that edge completely in late game since you "only" need to make sure you have as much EHP to survive that one unlucky hit. Another thing that is completely negated is armour with those kind of hits.
That's what really needs to be addressed. Flat out life buffs will just lead to a new path of life nodes and wouldn't really fix anything.
It already is path of life nodes ESPECIALLY this expansion even with a huge amount life you're going to die like the wind blows on you and peww splat dead.
But that's exactly why it's path of ES nodes now ;) Buffing life would just switch the meta, but wouldn't fix the root cause which is unavoidable one shots within a blurr of rainbowcolor effects. I don't mind one shots, IF they can actually be anticipated. Lots of things can't, but can often be mitigated if you stack lots of ES and go CI.

+1
GGG made monsters less squishy this patch, which was a FANTASTIC decision. The game became more tactical.
Now they just need to extend the same courtesy to the players.
Making armor's diminishing returns less diminishing might be a good start. Or better yet, actively seeking out those unavoidable one-shot dynamics in the game and toning them down.
Wash your hands, Exile!

I couldn't agree more. Anyone that doesn't invest in leech just can't fight the Guardians and Shaper unless they're using a long range attack and are pros at the mechanics. ALL close combat characters are completely boned without instant leech or an asinine amount of Life and/or ES. I made a Life build this league just to challenge myself and it's starting to wear me down, lol. I've had no problem getting to T16 but the Guardians just kill me too quickly with Physical and Elemental Resistances being capped with 5.8k Health. Vaal Pact is on the complete opposite of the tree (and next to Ghost Reaver, CI AND a shitload of ES. Really? lol) so no leech for me. Vaal Pact and all gear mods like it should be removed at this point. Standing there and face tanking everything while your health resource is barely effected is the new meta and it's gross.

remove instant leech - ALL SOURCES OF THIS CRAP
tone down boss damage so a guy with 5k hp needs to be hit twice by non-telegraphed hit (telegraphed hits should do MILLION damage so we cannot safely outleech lazor-beam-of-death)
reduce life leech effect on CI by half
done.

Totally agree. The original source for needing insta-leech used to be reflect (which in-itself is a really puzzling feature to have in such a game) but now this evolved into a completely different mental asylum.
