Hardcore POE: Paying for boss kills

Why do people who play HC pay other people to kill bosses for them? Why are you even playing HC if you want to cheese it by having some over-leveled and over-geared player fight the fights that pose the most risk? If you are afraid to lose your character, why are you in hardcore? Just to say you play hardcore?

I see this all day long in global when I am on my HC chars...makes me laugh.

Because the game is not balanced right.

Another thread that turns into a "hardcore is not hardcore because logout scripts, less risk taking character not deleted so lame!" fest.

Cant you guys just let it rest? We dont constantly piss on you for playing standard either. (obviously except some clowns that say they are hardcore players every opportunity they have, just ignore them.)

@OP I dont quite understand people who buy bosskills either, that said there are some builds that do much worse with some bosses than others. Melee evasion and the a4 bosses are as unfun as it gets, for instance.

Indeed, wherever I have to mention that I play on HC (to specify my league/ask for advice on something/or mention a difference between hc and sc without even characterizing them) some insecure jerk pops up and starts flaming me, tells me I am a pretentious elitist or something and mentions the logout macros.

What the hell is your problem people? The community used to be better.
Just because you watch twitch and your idol used a macro, this doesn't mean everyone does. And even they do, you must not know the game much, because in path-of-one-hits, macros are pretty much useless. Not talking about automatic macros - these are bannable anyhow.

To the OP: there are plenty of reasons someone may choose to do that. For example their builds may be at their weakest at a certain point or they specced in a way that makes them squishy in order not to respec later. Perhaps they have too little time to play and just don't want to take the risk.

Because my friends play HC. Because I have limited time to play. Because eat my ass.
I don't play HC, but some of the bosses are way overtuned. Why be forced to build a character around winning those boss fights every time. You would need a truly monster tank to be able to face tank daresso or izaro or malachai on merciless. That's basically the only guaranteed way you win those fights every time, otherwise one mistake will get you killed.

I had to YOLO daresso on merciless. Wait till I just leveled, go in with no exp, and just sit in his face attacking till he kills me, repeat till I win. Died 3x. This was with melee/evades. After fighting him previously I couldn't find a viable alternative strategy to win that fight otherwise with the build I had. Damn right I'd pay someone to take out merc daresso on HC if I didn't focus my build around winning a fight vs a boss that's way overtuned.

Because some people play HC to look good and for bragging right. Just ignore them, and move on. :P

No need to get all salty about it - there are better things to care about, really.
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.
The same reason SC players do. Convenience and speed.

Some even have to pay for boss kills because certain builds just cant handle certain bosses. Or do you know how my full support guardian with 0 dmg nodes is supposed to kill them?
Good question OP! Agree with some comments there and it would be more fair if GGG change monsters and boss damage by lowering them hard, to allow players kill and access content themselves.

If normal and HC players doing something like buying kill, buying access to map/challenge then it over tuned to them, maybe increase players defense and lower monster/boss damage?

God players always will be gods, no matter how much GGG change damage, but most players still wont get anything, so maybe just help most players?

People used to pay for Oak kills, now he is just a pushover. :(
I'm a forum warrior, i was born to post, raised to defend my league. Now my post has been removed, chained and exiled by mods who Ban. Ban is my brother; i do not fear it. I see it in the eyes of men and beasts that i troll. It will take me to play the actual game when i am ready and i am not ready.

More like people used to pay and or party up for bandit kills. Then the pking started to happen.
Because its faster, simple as that. I killed all the act bosses in every difficulty probably a hundred times so i dont need the confirmation that i can do it every fkn single time. But if i enter act 3 or 4 im already puking when i imagine i have to run the same way again like the 100 times before. So i pay 3 or 4 chaos for a guy that teleports around and skips the running for me while i grind the levels in docks or dried lake. I woldnt mind if he or she would just teleport me infront of the boss rooms, but when i pay him currency he can kill the stuff anyway since hes there.

Especially act 4 bosses has a slightly spike in gear and defense requirements i would have invenst to in order to feel "proper pepared", which means checking for items, probably buying, probably investing points in life... which becomes totally wasted because when you enter the next act you feel like you enter normal strand on steroids, thats when the spike falls to the very bottom and makes you zzzZzzzZZzz.

Scru....*cough* softcore player have to realize that people in hardcore not only level when they want to make a new build, they also have to relevel if they make a mistake. There is no "resurrect at last checkpoint".

Also, no i dont think im a better player than softcore players, its just that i have bigger balls :P
