No clue where you got the "it will be easier for ascendancy classes to pick up +max resistance" from though...-
He's getting that from his interpretation of the dev manifesto statement:
"
. (It's getting easier to dramatically increase maximum resistances, so this change is designed to partially counteract the new tools such as the Flask Effect mod and new Ascendancy options.)
But for some reason pretends the last part of the statement (flask effect mods) isn't part of the equation.

Ascendancy classes will only kill diversity if they nerf a lot the tree. For example, if they remove the "shock" nodes on the top of the tree and only the elementalist witch will have the option to shock without criting.

PS: By the way, this is my major worry right now, as I want to do an Occultist witch (CI-Cold Snap) that can shock to trigger HoT.

I disagree. The position in the tree in combination with adjacent nodes is what defines characters.

The advantages you get with a certain class over the other if you want to go a specific route was already clear enough.

I personally like the changes for Duelist (as this will buff my own build), but I can mostly agree with the worries of most posters who are against Ascendancy in some parts.


Except for when you can reach other character's starting nodes. Which is almost always. There are multiple builds that can be done by 3 classes, and all the difference is how you level up, and starting stats (which aren't important at all).

Ascendancy effectively splits those builds into separate ones (with differences that matter).
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge.
It's obvious to everyone that you just want to argue a point for the sake of argument. Picking on the meaning of "different" as some absolute is (at best) childish.
Anyone arguing against the essence of CaptainWarlord's point is being silly. Path of Exile only offers "unlimited builds" if you don't give a fuck about possibly bricking your character halfway through to the endgame.

yeah Ascendancy is a step backward for build diversity within a given class but in general i think it will create more builds
ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

You act like it's impossible to do. Sure, you'll have around 30 points inefficiently allocated but you could still pull it off.
