No, of course not! This was never implied, neither by me nor the OP. Deception is not against the law in PoE.

The point is: some dishonest people might attempt to trick unsuspecting sellers into giving stuff away for less than they were asking for without a proper haggle, by fiddling with the whisper message from poe.xyz. Some players might not have realised that it could happen. If they read this thread, they will, and will not let themselves be had so easily.

No whining, no call for action, no plea for attention. Just a warning.
That's how I read it, at least.

Quite sure OP is not calling GGG to take actions, but simply informing new (or unaware) players that some people are trying to pull shit like that. It should be expected (especially on expensive items), but well, nothing too bad about it.

Again, there are many things that are legal technically, but not seen as nice things to do (also see: banking, call centers)

If OP really felt the buyer was attempting to scam, OP should had reported the buyer.

My mom taught me not to snitch. Maybe I'm planning my own counter-scam.

No one can do this to me because my sales tabs are labeled 1c, 2c, 5c, etc. and if item isnt in tab I know buyer is full of shit and he just get ignored.

SO like in your example - I have no 4c tab so I dont even have to look. But lets say he said 3c on a 5c item. I look in 3c tab, not there? ignore and I go back to maps.

That's what I say if you can't keep track of your own prices yourself you only have yourself to blame.

But it's funny, most people who say no when I make them a lower offer message me after. They changed their mind "Hey are you still interested to buy it, I'm ok to sell it for 3c"

Character is character. Video game or real life makes no difference on your character. If all's fair in a video game, why do people get muted and banned for saying things in chat? Stop blaming the victim for somebody being dishonest. And try to be a decent human being. If you believe in a god, do you think he has an exemption for people who were assholes as long as it was in a video game?

If a cashier charged the wrong amount of money for an item, took the money and let the guy leave, the person in trouble is the cashier, not the guy who got the bargain. The cashier's job is to prevent this from happening, if the cashier fails, its on the cashier 100%. But yah, im sure we have undercover cops at all convenience store monitoring camera feeds in real time to catch evil people like that.
