Talisman beating Torment as most boring league !

I would take onslaught over talisman any day. Way more build diversity, actual items that were kick ass and you were excited to buy or see one drop.

The game was still newish and mechanics were still being discovered. The fact that monsters just moved faster and attacked faster was actually terrifying for the state of the game because people werent as experienced as they are today.

The game wasn't newish then... It was out for a VERY long time, and people were completely and utterly experienced. And Onslaught was kind of broken at first, with Kole one-shotting people and forcing a nerf.

Honestly, Ambush was the dumbest League. I take that back, Domination was.

And it's not about if a League adds harder mechanics or difficulty, it's about content and feel/atmosphere. Yeah, you could skip Beyond, but the possibility of summoning Old Gods by grouping kills is really cool. Or Nemesis where each Rare mob felt like christmas, and you kept hoping for a Corrupting Blood to adopt a devil-may-care risky attitude! <3

I like how Talisman has a collect/mix n' match/trade element that allows you to build towards a truly OP item as a goal.. And it has interesting fights, some really cool new Skill Gems (the League isn't all about the Mechanics,) etc.

I though I was going to get into Talisman but the Ascendancy trailers/teasers make the current Poe feel incomplete. I'll hold off for a few months. I am looking forward to Deadeye ranger and perm fortify duelist.
Talisman items are OK.
I saw many ppl having fun with them.

Talisman shrines being another strong box with a slight difference seemed not OK.
GGG could do much better than this.

Talisman possessed mobs are strong but not unique in nature nor identity so the encounter made me feel very different from that of the Beyond or Invasion which were somewhat more exiting.

THC feels deserted already. But then again, the game is still broken and no new fixes were added so no surprise there.

Ill force myself to try to get a decent amulet but thats it.
It is a real weak, I mean I play like 12-16 hour and I always get the same talismans after summoning, literally sitting on 4 different talisman forever.

And even when you fight rigwald he drops the ring, and considering, you need 5*5*5 talisman to summon him, if you are lucky, but it is more like 200 every time you try to get the proper set.

Honestly, I'm completely not excited for Ascendancy.. It looks like an empty League to me. "Oh, just a fancy obstacle course... Nice, I guess. Yey, some extra Stats? Cool, I guess." That's my take on it..

Unless Ascendancy comes with some super cool Leagues alongside it, it looks to be the most boring release/expansion in PoE history. :S

It doesn't hurt that the Shadow Sub-Classes are extremely Sub-Par (pun--that's a pun right?--intended.)

I'm most excited for any new Uniques that will come out with it, then again that's usually the most exciting thing of any new Patch/Update/Expansion.

Do you people not understand that Talisman is a fucking FILLER LEAGUE?

It's the same for both SC and HC, with just a few Unique differences, that's fucking it. It's just here until Ascendancy arrives.

The number of how many challenges I have completed since Talisman launched, speaks for itself I guess.
I really like it so far. Cant say how big of an impact Talismans have in endgame though as im a slowpoke leveler and frequent re-roller. But early game those powerful implicit are real fun.

The only complain I have right now are the small amount of different encounters it offers, and how little impact the talismans have on possessed monsters sometimes.
GGG should change talisman upgrade tier mechanic to offer a bigger chance to get a higher rarity talisman than the ones you put on shrine.

Otherwise normal and magic talisman will have no use and no trade value and people will only do 5 rare/unique talisman sacrifices. As we can see right now, when league just started.

Also, this will help diminish the grind needed to get high tier high rarity talisman which is the people feedback and mine also.

Chris has said that getting 125 (!) won't take too long (do GGG even play their own game? lol), but there are 2 aspects that I can definitely see people QQ over and may make talismans a fiasco:

1) The fact that you need 5 different base amulets to trade up. This means that those 125 have to all be different from each other (statistically nigh impossible) and without seriously annoying trading players may need to get around 300+ talismans to actually have the 125 needed. Not taking into account the logistics of storing and organising (admitted a smaller quantity as you trade up) etc, thats still a real pain. Also very small amount of possession monsters with talismans (why so small amount monsters with talisman?)

2) Just how many talismans will need to be stored if we also are keeping normal and magic rarity ones?? Overall its a logistical nightmare, and as has stated who would want to store normal and magic amulets when what we really want are the rare and unique ones? If there is to be any synergy and motivation then the rarity chance should scale up and not scale down as at the moment proposed (except for maybe uniques) - its bad enough the crazy number of talismans that will be needed, but don't forget that even a tier 4 rigwald amulet (which requires considerable effort to get, as it 'should') can have poor rolls and be vendor trash.

Summarizing, the overall concept and idea of talisman is not bad, and the effort for reward can be well balanced, but at the moment needing 5 different base talismans AND the uselessness of normal/magic amules can make the league a total bust.

We need more talisman drop and talisman monsters per location/map and much much MORE higher chance to drop rare talisman!

Change talisman upgrade tier mechanic to offer a bigger (a lot bigger) chance to get a higher rarity talisman than the ones you put on shrine.

And as always ggg ruined very good idea - talisman. Rip

If they so bad at balancing game (how many crash we got now?, how many DC and desync?) ruined balance for gems: now spells and ranger so strong that melee has no use or fun playing it. CA (PA) even more stronger then ever. Cyclone nerfed. Melee still super bad and unplayable as always.

Rangers and spells ways to go!
