Australian Gateway Latency Issue

100% this is a server issue rather than provider, since after the big server meltdown 2days ago this has been happening

Same thing here. Brisbane Optus fibre optic. Let me know if I can give any data that's helpful. Currently getting 160-180 (usually get ~ 30)

This isn't anything to do with the Australian servers. It's purely a network issue.

I am still waiting for an update from SoftLayer. I will update this thread when I hear back.

Usually connect to Australia realm (not autoselect), been getting the same issue. Notably, as said earlier, Singapore isn't in the realm list, Australia has the same range of ping that Singapore did when it was in the list, and when I connect to the Australia realm, in town pressing tab says Australia realm, but outside town it says singapore.

Things I've tried:
> power cycling modem
> pingtest (reports 13 ping)
> restarting computer
> waiting (around a day)
> running as admin
> disabling antivirus
> manually allowing poe through firewall
> angry wank (lel jk)


Seems your right and the issue is at the Telstra hop. So as an optus user that sucks hahaha...Gotta contact the ISP who'll then have to contact Telstra, I have a feeling I'm not going to be able to play PoE for a while.

Had this same thing happen when I was with TPG and playing World of Warcraft except the ping was 2000 instead of 200, took them 6 months to resolve it, luckily I used a tunnelling service in the meantime :P

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Latency issues have plagued me and - having watched this forum for some time - other Aussies since the Awakening Beta. My problem was lag jumping to 1500 during peak usage times (7.30-11pm weeknights) and made the game unplayable. I've changed ISPs (from Dodo to Telstra - tonight is the switchover) thinking it was their issue - even after reporting it to them and providing the WinMTR results. I have no latency issues with any other game. So pleased you've looked into this.

Hey guys. Check your ISP it must be that. Let's say at launch there were 10 000 players and 9 700 of them had issues with connection, fps and what-not. GGG only answer was check your ISP. If almost 100% of the population in game has problems I wouldn't blame ISP.

Just so you know, this particular problem seems to be fairly isolated to a small percentage of the population and is completely different to current existing problems, next time, I would suggest you actually read what's going on before you come into a genuinely helpful thread and being very passive aggressive for no reason.
