Yep, but with little effort "okish" can be crafted.



Cast speed will have heavy mana drain. Check my mana usage/regen calculator I've posted it somewhere in this topic but no one seems to care.

This may have been proposed somewhere in the 25 pages that I did not all read, but what about dropping some fire damage for chaos damage instead?

From what I understand, all the fire, spell, elemental and projectile damage all add since the initial damage is fire, while chaos damage would essentially multiply since it is converted to after all those increases have been made.

Plus, you go right next to the two chaos damage rings, so it would be an easy switch. Dropping the Heart of flame and other nodes around it and take Method to Madness and/or Corruption nodes instead should greatly increase your DPS without having to take additional nodes.

I may be wrong, but the increased chaos damage still applies to base fire damage, which is now chaos damage.
@ZiggySobotka Wait... you got +1 gems on every 5l you tried on a first attempt?

In damage conversion different damage types are additive, not multiplicative.

Let me give you an example:
You have 100% cold to fire conversion.
You have 50% fire damage on the tree and 50% cold damage on the tree.
Your base spell damage is 100 cold damage.
Your tooltip damage would then be 100 cold damage * (1+ 0.5 cold + 0.5 fire) = 200 fire damage.

If it were multiplicative, it would be 100 * (1+ 0.5) * (1 + 0.5) = 225. If this was the case, chaos damage on tree and jewels with chaos damage would be best nodes for the build.
This is not the case, however. That's the reason why i skip all the chaos damage on the tree, they have lower dmg/point values then fire damage nodes and are not worth taking.

Cool, thanks for clearing that out! In that case, points are indeed best spent on other nodes.
