Of course they do. Why shouldn't they?

No, YOU see it the wrong way. The ACTION of the scammer is the same. The goal is to scam. Taking advantage of stupid/weak people just make it worse.

Yes and No.

The problem here is how fucked up the rules of PoE are. For some reason GGG allows to scam people however they do not allow to report scamming. I.e. if someone scams me that's fine. If i tell the community who scammed me, if i posts screenshots or a video of the event happening they will ban me for that.

That's the fucking problem right there.

The problem here is people trying to hide bad (in the rest of the world illegal) actions behind stupid people and a ToS.

Taking a kids lunch money is ok; "hey, kids are stupid"
Taking the money of a person with Downs; "hey, they're stupid - it's ok"

The ACTION is the same, no matter how naive the other part is.

That is blunt action, not intelligence. Make the kids give you their lunch money by their own will, make the person with Downs do it under their on will.

If they do it without being forced to, it's their fault for they could have simply not do it.
They done it by their own action, and you can't complain about something you have done by yourself without sounding stupid, regardless if you were tricked into it or not.

You think your way is right? There's the problem. No way is right, they are just ways.
If you ask a stupid question, expect stupid answers.
If you post a troll thread, expect troll replies.

You dont get it. If i ask you if i can hold your wallet and then run away, its your fault. if i steal your wallet and run away its my fault.

See, thats how you could go to the cops and pretend to be a victim even though you gave it to me willingly while in the latter example i clearly stole it and therefore you are a victim and you can actually expect sympathy while in the former example you could not.

I think the real problem here is that people don't understand that morality in real life isn't the same as morality in a game. They've lost touch that we're playing a game and think that the same moral arguments that apply to RL contracts would apply equally to contracts within a game. They don't. Get over it.

Wrong, you try to defend scammers here by claiming that morale changes. That's obvioulsy stupid. The thing that changes isn't the moral, it's punishment for doing something wrong or for something not accepted.

Obviously stupid? That's your argument? Wow. Guess you win.

And I'm not defending scammers... I'm denying their existence.

I do get it. I just do not agree with you. Both these examples are stealing. Of course it was a stupid and naive action to let some else hold your wallet, but running away with it - with the intention of never giving it back - is stealing.

Comparing buying a "service run" to buying drugs is a kinda childish and lame aptitude IMO

They are not paying for exploiting a bug, or learning to exploit it.

They are paying for a service such as buying a coffee. You never do contracts for buying a coffee, still the system allows people to sell it. There is people living off coffee shops, and those here on POE are the Atziri run service posts. System isnt controlling them, system doesnt certificate each damn post / coffee you take, but if i pay for a coffee i expect it.

There are multiple business IRL that dont require contract and closed system cordination to do so. The fact coffee shops pay taxes for their "winings" cant be linked to the situation here as its a free to play game, but at best you should note there is a warning against cross-league trades (for the danger it implies) and there is no-one for the "buy-Services" one.

Accepting scamms as part of the system is like accepting corruption on a gobernment because they had 51% votation and they can change rules. There is no rule against it, there are too few resources (from GGG side this time) to control it, but that doesnt mean the community should /bow and accept/applaud it

The only way i can see any1 accepting it is if they plan / hope to take advantage on it

You can't apply a definition of "oral contract" from the real world to this game, just as much as you can't apply the purchase of coffee. These things we're trading for aren't real. The actions we take in the game have ZERO real world consequences.
