Since switching from a "no trade" style of play very recently - I can list out some very helpful tips:
1) Use XYZ to trade only. ***NEVER EVER EVER bother with any other method of trade. 2) When you do a search, ONLY use "online" and "buyout" in your filters. ****NEVER EVER EVER bother with anything other than these very specific settings. 3) Get your trade completed within minutes. "Hey, I see you selling X items for 10xChaos - that's a fair price, meet in A1N? - Cool - thanks, happy hunting!" If you try to trade by any other method, then I feel no pain for you. You control it. You are allowing these guys' poor behaviors in trading. |

Most of the things I sell are with b/os. Sometimes I'll try to get a sell on a nice unique I just picked up or some gems that I finished level via trade chat or noticeboard spam.
Then I run into idiots like this: Him: hi how much for ur andvarius Me: Offer Him: 1 ex Or like this: Him: wtb divination Me: (links my divin dist) Him: how much Me: Offer Him: 2 ex Or: Him: how much for ur dire hold coral ring Me: Can you give a fair offer, considering the prices of similar and inferior rings on poe.xyz are anywhere form 6 to 14 exalts? Him: ok i offer 5ex and I don't even respond whenever I run into all those idiots who keep giving ridiculously low offers. When I ask for an offer, I don't expect them to over-offer, I expect them to come close enough to a price I have in mind for me to know that I can comfortably ask the price with the expectation that they can pay it out. I have almost zero tolerance for people who go miles under thinking that it would do them any good.
