Make an honest reply with a reasonable price. If it works, ok. If not... too bad. But I had sometimes they came back and beg me to buy it after telling me it is too low...hummm I wonder why...

I hate haggling, which is why I try to avoid such situations. I generally do not get myself into conversation with people advertising their goods without a price reference or buyout price. It saves a lot of headache. But on the rare occasion that I do get myself into such a situation (usually items that I really really really want), I toss them a price and finally adjust into another value. If they are unsatisfied, I just tell them "alright np, just lemme know if you change your mind".
Haggling is a skill, and takes enormous patience and resolve. It may seems douchey and all, but I it's all part of the haggling process (eg. "too low, nothnxbye"). Afterall, sellers are trying to get as much as they can for their goods, while buyers try to get best price for themselves. |

I like to make an offer and then call them out when they claim its not high enough. If its not high enough then you definitely know about what you want but your not willing to say.
