Why do people not want to haggle?

Discussing moderation actions can get you a warning... but I'll say:

Thanks for doing your job support.
I love haggleling/bartering. Even if theres a buyout, I allways respect people for haggleling a little on the price, within reason. Its not sure they will get it for their expected price. But I sure as hell respect it :)

Since you love bartering, can you tell me of one case where you bartered? Maybe you traded your faster attacks gem for their faster casting gem?

so I have been getting all sorts of offers for this:

Spoiler

I have been offered so many other items, but not one person offered currency lol

haggling is alive and well sir :p
R.I.P. my beloved P.o.E.
I've bartered items for other items as well as orbs. There are awesome people out there that will work with you.

[Removed by Support] feel threatened around other people (this includes you in game since that is their social time) and when you approach one and say "hello, how are you today? I'd like to buy an item that you listed but there wasn't a price, what would you like for it?"

This is where the [Removed by Support] gets annoyed and verbally shrugs "uhhhhhh, offer"

They lack the social skills to realize that this person is trying to get a negotiation going and giving the seller the advantage of letting him start with a price, which would expect to be high.

So now the ball is in the buyers court, the neckbeard unknowingly passed the advantage onto the buyer, so the buyer will naturally start low.

This is where the [Removed by Support] feels offended. He then becomes angry at a lower offer than he expected so instead of countering high to get a deal made somewhere in the middle like a normal person would, he types "FUCK OFF NOOB" to the buyer and puts him on his ignore list.

The more and more this happens, the more and more enraged the [Removed by Support] gets. He will be even more rude and stupid to the next potential buyer who contacts him. It's a vicious cycle.

can't say neckbeard? lol

Because haggling is just not fun?

And if GGG intended it this way, this is no Pro-argument for haggling but just BS design and IS debatebale.

Currently I do not play PoE, because progress is too dependend on trade and I just dont enjoy trading. Also I started to despise capitalistic behaviour and I dont want to have it in game as RL has awfully enough of it.

I just want to play the game on my own, not getting exploited(by PathOfEconomists who naturally inflate prices) and also not get free stuff(=trade)
Also I dont want to waste time on checking prices on third party websites in order to be competitive.

So I dont play the game and just observe its development.

I really believe that the multiplayer aspect sets PoE back, at least for me.

Partying: no meaningful interaction, its just a free win button

Trade: annoying, distracts and overshadows core game mechanics (looting and crafting)

I can do a trade for item, or lower the price if someone gives me a good reason to.

But most of the hagglers I see seem like people trying to get something uber cheap to flip.
Oblivious

Ive traded gems for gems, but also items for items. Ofcourse if its highend item its often easier to do the trade in orbs, but there is still bartering involved when we are agree on a price, both when Im the seller and the buyer.
