They won´t do that cause crafting is designed to be a currency sink.
Which reflects how productive enterprise works in real life! Stuff has a marginal value, and if it's cheap to produce (wheat and corn is nearly 100% fuel, and very little human labor) it ends up yielding negative value.
And that's why the government has to pay people to grow corn. They can't do the same for growing Alteration Orbs however.

But there are bots farming the alts.
I bought 2K alts today from one guy, on packs of 640 at a time. After the second time asking him if he had more and he answering affirmative, I clearly saw I was buying alts from a botter. I stopped there and bought no more. Who the hell has more than 4K alts on his stash ?
Uhm.

nice post OP. I agree with a lot of things. People like me, would grind daily doing map after map after map and end up broke because of it. If you want to succeed in this game, doing maps and just playing the game is just the worst way to do it and that is what has turned me off on this game and I doubt I will play again. Years of playing and never getting a good drop or 6 linking anything despite tens of thousands of fusings used. Well, I got 1 good drop in this game over the years I have played, just a soul taker. Never even seen an eternal and I don't know why they are so ultra rare. I just can't motivate myself to play this anymore, can't find gear, cant find gear to even buy because the trading system is a joke and I won't take part in that.

This right here is the experience of a lot of players that I know who actually PLAY THE GAME a lot.

My expectation, in any game like this, would be that making XP and making money would be 2 distinctly different in game activities. I am actually surprised to see posts where people expect them to be one in the same.
If I spend all of my time grinding maps for XP, I am going to be broke/poor because all of my time is being spent leveling instead of making money.

Why should these be separated? I think it would be far more productive and rewarding to have good drops/currency drops WHILE you were grinding. Not only are you getting XP but you're getting better gear and more currency. It's like doing combination exercises at the gym. They exercise the entire body, not just one muscle. If we're talking about a fantasy game, it's all about gaining POWER. XP is a form of power because we can give our characters more advantages (nodes) to make us more effective at killing things, just like any other video game or even a table top RPG. Currency and gear are also forms of power that influence how well we hack through stuff. All of these forms of power should be exercised at once. If I have to worry about separating out when I grind for XP and when I have to go into used car salesman mode in order to endlessly flip items and lower forms of currency that is simply boring and not fun for me at all, along with many other people who have no interest in playing an economic market simulator.

Because then the amount of money everyone has would be only attributable to the amount of time they play. That would be...ugh. The amount of money people have should be tied to some combination of effort to make money and ingenuity.
Also - I am not talking about flipping - kudos to peeps who do that, because I find staring at poe all day absolutley boring. But it doesn't take long to sell a Midnight, a Hope, a something big you chanced, or a 20/20 or 21/20 game you made. We're talking minutes on a party board while you do something else - maybe maintaining 1 thread you update once a day.

I am not saying that there ain't bots, but just take your 70+ level character, stack as much IIR as you can get and farm normal Merveil... it takes about an hour to get 50+ alts.. then do that for a week.. or 3 months.. or if this is about permaleagues, years.
4k alts is actually very few...
