I think a GGG response on Vaal Oversoul is due.

I see the "vaal run to you and resync after a few second" all the time since forever. It really shouldn't happen. Not on a slow boss in an open area.
For me, Brutus is the one who has been the most successful in killing my characters with the stealth Houdini desync attack.

For now, glad to see the Vaal beast is getting a look. Thanks, Mark.

houdini & brutus in same time just gave me nightmares

Spoiler

The real nightmare starts when he impossibly hooks your dude from the opposite side of a wall, then drags you, imbedding your character into the wall.

Always enjoy reading a write up. Thanks Mark

To prevent this desync occurring in the current game, it would be probably be best to not move until it has started the smash, then get out of the way. To avoid dying, it's probably better to run as far as you can so you're definitely outside the range of the slam on the server <...>

Yeah, lol http://www.twitch.tv/theanuhart/c/3256589

Damn, man.
IGN: SplitEpimorphism
Very interesting that some have it a lot and some don't, perfect storm?

Cheers for the in depth look though Mark, people seem to forget A: NZ time, and B: Weekends are not workdays
I haven't personally experienced this type of desync with Vaal Oversoul, but I have died several times to Dominus doing stealth ToGs on me - no audio/visual effects of ToG initiating, and suddenly I see the nice big lightning effect on the ground, in my face. Perhaps this is a similar situation?

For the record (not that anyone will care) this thread has not been "ignored" by GGG. It was posted at 1am on Sunday (in our timezone). It's now early afternoon Monday and I've found time to investigate the issue and compile a reply.

I am perfectly aware GGG are busy and have their break time, i have asked to give the OP a response only to make sure it does not get ignored after they come back to forum.

Spoiler
Now you can go back making PoE : Awakening of the exile (aka PoE2). Right

That's awesome my man, I have no idea what you're talking about or its relevance to this thread, but I love your passion no less!

What happens in this case that breaks things is that on the server, he finishes emerging and begins the slam while the player is still in range, before they've gotten outside where he can hit. On the client, the player gets far enough away that you're our of range before he can begin the slam, and thus he has to walk after the player to get into range to start the action.
So the server only sends an action but not the place where this action is going to be executed?
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.
I'm currently in the process of compiling a collection of PoE desync videos, and will be creating a YouTube channel shortly, dedicated solely to showcasing PoE deaths caused by desync. There is a treasure trove of examples from streamers on Twitch that I'm currently sorting through, so with your permission Anuhart, your 2 videos will be added to the compilation.

Furthermore, knowing a few peers who currently work in the gaming journalism sector, I will also be forwarding these videos to the appropriate outlets who will likely be reviewing PoE content in the future. I firmly believe that PoE's desync issue should be seen by all, especially to newcomers who might not be aware of the HIV-laced needle in the haystack.

That. Fucking. Sucks bro...

I honestly can't see how that death is anywhere due to the player's fault. Since you can be considered a PoE veteran and still died to such a "mechanic", I simply can't imagine the frustration that a newbie would feel if they died in the same way.

and if he does follow, do a "/oos" after the time you think an immediate slam would take on the server to get him back to the correct state if he did start one there.

If /oos is as necessary as you devs repeatedly make the command seem, please just introduced a /oos gem. It's obviously become an integral part of properly enjoying this game.
