I think a GGG response on Vaal Oversoul is due.

For once, some action was taken to correct an issue....

It's not like this is a singularity.

The dual wield thread just some time ago took the exact same direction. :)

It appears this one got solved, too.

Wasn't this just a clientside bug with Lightning Warp when 2 portals had the same distance and it was actually only the Ice Form?

Maybe I will just provocate Vaal to walk a bit after patch.
Wow, Vaal Oversoul is so fixed :)

Send them some vids.

They can't keep up with all your footage, even if they follow your channel. ;)

Well, here's an 'after' VoD, before and after stylie (before being in the OP).

I purposely played this as though I could trust what I saw, and it was seamless.

GGG can't reproduce the bug because they play on local copies of their game where Server and Client always are in sync.
*sigh*

I already explained in this thread both a) That Mark2 was able to recreate the bug, and b) that no, our testing does not happen in that context. I also went over my suspicions of why this only happens for some people and not for others, as has been noted in the thread - it's not just me who's never had this happen, some players never see it (and others often do).

For the record, it is also not possible, as you suggest, for the Client to predict a different action than the server, because the client does not predict monster action choice at all, only the results of the actions they do perform (which the server informs it of).

Aww Mark, come on, don't do this. It's very, very, VEEERY obvious that the client predicts monster behavior. Because, if not, how do explain those nasty skelletons waling trough small soors or turning corners, then coming after the player, hitting the player for NO DAMAGE, and then when you /OOS the skellleton didn't even notice you at the first place. I'm not trying to be offensive in any way, but saying stuff like that makes you lose some beliveability. The client DOES preditic monster behavior, and it does AWAYS and it's extremely obvious to our eyes and it has thousands of examples of when it happens. Unless you do not consider walking and attacking a behavior. If you insist that the client does not predict monster behavior, then something really nasty is happening to make those skellies attack me client side while not noticing me server side and when rhoas seem to charge at you just for you to find out that they actually never even started moving towards you.

If you mean me personally, then not a lot because global changes that affect desync aren't my job ...

If any employee of mine ever uttered that phrase, they'd be unemployed immediately.

Customer experience is *everyone's* job at GGG. It's vital to success in any business, and GGG is no exception.

Customer experience in PoE is abysmal, as has already been stated numerous times. You set the example as to why that is perfectly, and why it will never be fixed in this game.

At least we appreciate your honesty.

How is him somehow learning and developing a solution to desync when it isn't even his god damn job, customer service? You must be fucked in the skull lol. I mean sure, say nice things and what not and don't be negative, but not doing something that is clearly not his job, isn't cause for firing him -_-"

I'd rather they just ban outright the completely ignorant halfwits that post and believe as you do, much better for community and developer moral.

You are NOT a customer, at best you are a donator but that only after YOU have felt you have gotten your moneys worth out of the game....the mentality that the customer is always right is wrong and seriously outdated, used by companies that habitually make money of customers(that would be if GGG charged for the game and a sub) to try keep their custom.
You have a game here that is good, the devs are aware of the problems and have repeatedly said that they are working on them even going so far as to go into depth about the problems and what they are trying to do...but that's never good enough for some people and those people can just fuck right off and let the devs get to it
