Everything you need to know about Iron Reflexes
I would say, it all matters how many Skill Points do you want to spend.
For a total of 12 Points spend for the Armour Nodes, you will get 175% more Armour. For a total of 09 Points spend for the Leather and Steel Nodes, you will get 104% more Armour. For a total of 14 Points spend for the Evasion Nodes, you will get 188% more Armour. Theory is with the Evasion Nodes, you will get the highest Armour possible, but it will take more Skill Points, none or less because of the way you must take to reach all 14 Nodes... The Armour Nodes are a good balance i think, but only if you want to go to the Marauder Area anyway... The Leather and Steel Nodes are the cheapest, but also the weakest in comparison. All of this implies the use of IR. Correct me please if its crap what i say.^^ For my part i will get the Armour Nodes and take the Hybrid Armour. :) |

" You're taking the discussion out of context into the area of "skill map efficiency", not just node value. The discussion centers on whether a "normal" armor node or LS or evade node is better (e.g. 10% armor or 8% both or 10% evade). The player still has to manage how many points they spend to get around the map. Naturally, "backdooring" the L&S cluster to pick up the 24% armor/evade for 1 point is a good deal if you're already in that area. Shrug. " A generic set of 6 armor nodes would be 10 10 10 10 10 30 = 80. The 12% node near the Duelist start is abnormal, and the L&S cluster at the bottom is abnormally "bad" because it has 5 normal nodes to get to the big one. Comparing normal sets of 3 nodes would be 8 8 24 versus 10 10 30, or 40 versus 50. Edit: In other news, I actually ran some numbers for a thread on gamefaqs and if I'm not mistaken, IR actually reduces your average defense by a pretty decent amount compared to splitting your evade and armor ratings. This is especially true when you consider the duelist option for L&S. Edit2: Point being that if you do take IR, you really want to make the most of it by taking the passive to remove stuns as well. Else you're probably just hurting yourself. Last edited by EasymodeX#7822 on Jan 31, 2013, 4:24:47 PM

I say IR helps greatly because it doesn't make me take as much giant spikes of damage. Those spikes are generally the things that kill me because my flasks dont recover fast enough to take another spike. That or I can't react fast enough to recover.
