Everything you need to know about Iron Reflexes

The implication of this is that Armor nodes are significantly better than Evasion nodes because they buff both evasion and armor. The evasion nodes will not buff granite flask. People have this idea that starting ranger and grabbing the evasion nodes is going to be efficient, but it actually makes no sense because it's only buffing their meager evasion stats while getting armor nodes would buff everything. Even in it's nerfed state 4000 armor from granite is more than anyone will ever realistically have on gear.

what does this mean? i have taken both LS nodes. you are saying once i take IR that only 1 of the LS nodes is converted and the other is wasted?

No, it means that you will get only the armor multiplier from them; the evasion rating will get the Dexterity bonus, convert to armor, then L&S will multiply your armor by 8%. The evasion portion of L&S won't do anything.

this is confusing. so LS is 24% to armor and 24% to evasion. when IR is taken then 24% to evasion goes poof? does not get converted to armor?

Yep. You should take those points out and put them in the Armor nodes, as you'll get better returns per point from them; they will boost the armor you get from the Evasion converted by Iron Reflexes as well as any other Armor sources, like Granite flasks.
a little late now.... blew 8 skill points on LS and its path nodes.

here is what i am going to do. instead of everyone wondering around right now which way it converts, etc... since there still does not appear to be a consensus, here is what i will do.

i am heading in that direction anyways. once i get to the node before IR, i will post all my armor and evasion values and my tree.

and folks will use their formulas they believe to be correct to tell me what IR will end up converting all my evasion to and what i will end up with as my total armor.

then i will proceed to take the IR and we will see. someone is bound to end up 100% correct. then we will know with completely accuracy how IR and LS work together.

and if IR and LS just suck together then i ll just have to unskill IR and go along without it because 8 skill points is too many to refund right now.

thanks for testing it out for us!

Do you have any +armour% nodes (not the combined evasion and armour ones)?

I'm wondering if the plain +armour% nodes will come into play on evasion gear that converts to armour due to IR.

example
Gear gives me 100 evasion

I have a passive node giving +10% armour and no other evasion or armour nodes
I get IR

Is resulting armour 100 or 110?

check out my tree. no i was specifically shooting for LS nodes instead of armor node burbs. I am 4 points away from testing this, so with my work schedule we will have our answer in a couple days.

I'm going with: IR.armor = (gear.armor)*(1+SS.armor%+L&S.armor%) + (level.evade+gear.evade)*(1+L&S.evade%+dex.evade%+SS.armor%)

Goodluck.

Assuming it works this way, IR will apply first, thus converting the 100 evasion to 100 armor, then your armor node will kick in and bump you up to 110 armor.

Why do you have a second Steel Skin in your formula where you're calculating evasion chance?

Regardless, from what I've been reading in most posts, it seems that IR is calculated first, thus L&S is essentially only calculating the armor% as the evasion conversion will be applying to 0 (or perhaps your base 5% chance?)
I can see Leather and Steel only counting as 8% armour increase when Iron Reflexes is active. If Iron Reflexes is not active, then you can get the evasion and armour bonus correct?
