deleted thread - a clarification
The problem I have with complaint threads on forum isn't their arguments, their wording, or even when they get a bit passive aggressive about it or borderline abusive.
The problem for me is that I've seen the same X arguments again and again and again, with the same discussions back and forth, with varying degrees of intelligent discussion. But reading these threads I realized something that I hadn't really thought about too much before. That to someone complaining about these things, it feels like they are being ignored or marginalized, or at worst silenced. Being shoved to other subforums, or buried by other threads, etc. I am certain GGG is well aware of complaints people have about the game, and they do post quite often on their attempts to improve issues people complain about, and tell us why their priorities are how they are. They aren't trying to silence people that complain, they like me are likely just tired of seeing the same five rage threads over and over. Which makes me wonder... would it be feasible to have a stickied thread with compilation of complaints people have about the game? If you could have people type up intelligently worded arguments about what they feel is wrong and how they feel GGG should instead approach things, and have that prominently displayed stickied on general forum. It should be heavily moderated against personal attacks, but if people are able to calmly discuss the facts there, it sounds like it would benefit everyone. It would ideally limit the amount of new threads with same complaints that pop up over and over, and at same time show that GGG isn't trying to hide the fact that some people have genuine concerns with the game in its current state. " Thanks Barl, consistency is definitely the ideal. In Ozoug's case it is a matter of degree, how strong/aggressive is too strong, in my opinion the tone of his reply was borderline but arguably still within the rules. edit: Today we were told we are too draconian, while others say we are too lax, there is a middle-ground we want to walk, hopefully this doesn't just mean we get put in range of both camps. " Interesting. Which kinda makes me think, as I wasn't attacking anyone, that they timed me out to stop the personal attacks which had just begun against me. That or to put an end to what I was saying which wasn't against the forum rules, albeit probably not to GGG's liking. Neither sit well. Casually casual.

To have locked the thread would have been better, but the OP posts nothing but complaints and should probably go play something else instead of trolling these forums full time.
Nothing to see here.

Well most people that stick around and complain do that because they actually care about the game so I'm sure he actually likes PoE but is just annoyed by stuff.
My point was the repeated posting of the same shit that a few posters here do, every post they make they bring up the same stuff... he's one of them. (And then there are people like isboxer, stinkfinger that seem like trolls someone are paying for posting here). Nothing to see here. Last edited by ReZar#2635 on Feb 20, 2014, 3:53:18 AM

I think the best way for GGG to counter alot of the flamewars and same threads reappearing on a daily basis on the forums is to be more open and frank about the future of the game. They could for example dismiss all topics about SFL by simply stating "There will never ever be a league where trades are disabled and droprates improved." and that would be the end to those infected threads. Then they can use that same policy of clarifying and dismissing any other false hopes players dream about seeing in this game so that those players can either adapt to the fact that they will never see their dream come true or move on to another game.
As long as people feel there is maybe a little hope for their probably futile dreams they gonna continue post whinethreads about it and the flamewars will continue. |

" They've already done this on several occasions. |

On a semi-related note, I would love to see repeat troll posters get temporary, potentially permanent, forum restrictions for reaching a certain threshold of non-contributory, useless posts.
The forums should be a place for genuine comments, not random derps of impulsive nothingness. Punish the trolls. They don't deserve to drown out even one genuine contribution. TY to those who called me out on my BS on these forums. There is no benefit to being so selfish as to fail to acknowledge others' differing beliefs of what "should be" or believe your own opinions so supreme as to be factual and thus dismiss others' opinions as being somehow a lie or delusional.

" Wat do we have? 1.Fanboys =>Bad fanboys QQers who do not give feedback.(trolling) =>Good fanboys Give Criticism without emotion, they just do it.(Scrotie style) =>Bad fanboys Comment 80% of the criticism(Bad fanboys one + non fanboys one) like whiteknights.(whiteknighting) We have a lot of bad fanboys! 2.Non-fanboys => Makers of rage/quit threads containing feedback + anyone who has left. If you want to punish random derps of impulsive apply it to everybody.
