lol no mentionning the fact that multi-searing is kinda useless nowthat it doesnt stack anymore

Do you actually ask more support for an already broken skill?

My hat is off for you mate :)

Im eager about Searing because GGG has been lazy as fuck when they "fixed" it

they went for the easy "Give it dps, the dumbest will be happy"

instead of going with smarter and better fix like tagging Searing bond as AOE

its a really sad story from a company that claimed to make a game with "A shitload of customability"
ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

If they gave it the aoe tag it would be tremendous "MORE" broken.See what i did there?

With a single support,it would provide the same effect as now,if it was the old searing bond damage. Not mention how more broken would that be.

Right now its the signle handed-ly most broken gem in game.It would be even more with aoe tag
Bye bye desync!

My questions regarding Races, Quantity and Gated uniques were all overlooked. WHY YOU DO THIS, RHYS?!

Because I don't know the answers.

Quantity will revisited at the end of the current 4 month leagues. Gated uniques are an incentive to do high level maps, but it isn't set in stone. We try to provide races for people all over the world with different amounts of free time; if there's a particular time slot you feel is underutilized you should let Neon know.

Would the balance team consider the current balance in-game functional when it is possible to have no luck in an entire 4 month league?

Is DnD broken because a player can roll critical failure on every single roll and never succeed at anything? Of course not.

I'm not sure what you mean by "having no luck at all" vs "having only good luck" in terms of the 4-month leagues. Seems like a very grey area.

most CCGs permit the purchase of rare "singles" from stores, for a price :P This is the main method players of CCGs utilize to obtain particularly rare cards, no? Last time I looked, PoE was strictly against its closest analogue, RMT ("You can buy it with Orbs" doesn't work as a counter argument because that would mean you earn money from and only from cracking boosters).

Well yeah, the analogy breaks down if you push it too far. "Opening boosters" is equivalent to "playing the game" or perhaps "farming bosses" or something. Point is, one these you pay for with cash, the other you "pay" for with time. Also, with CCGs "shops" are still just glorified traders. They make profit off singles by trading wisely and (sometimes) opening boosters.

Well technically, it was a bit of hyperbole on Rhys's part anyway. You can track how many actual posts the devs make here, and you'll see it's nowhere close to 20 unless you indeed count Support: http://www.gggtracker.com/

Fact of the matter is, Reddit sees more activity from GGG devs than this place.

I was using that very site when I made that claim. I may have gotten the average number wrong due to looking at the wrong days - but there are quite a few days with 20+ posts. And after looking at a bunch more days, it seems like the median is more like 8 to 10. Still a lot more than Reddit, afaik.

1. Do you feel having two permanent leagues was a bad idea in retrospect now that we have rolling four month leagues?

Yeah, almost no-one still plays in the old Hardcore league. It's still interesting to have the old ladder around, though.

2. How come when I'm desynced my client knows where to draw my molten shell explosion yet does nothing to sync me back up?

Because the explosion is a separate entity that is serialized by the server. Always resyncing you every time a Molten Shell goes off is probably a bad idea. Even though there are instances where it helps, there are many times it would make the experience worse.

3. Is it technically possible to add an advanced option to turn off the automated movement when your character is out of mana / line of sight / tries to place a totem where he can't?

Maybe, not sure. I know what you mean, though. It's annoying.

Don't you mean 'thats' is not a word?

Nice random information, by the way.
Casually casual.

Forealious rhys and company, will you ever make the single player experience more fun/rewarding/competitive to trade/economy? Really why not just satisfy a whole subset of the player base and give us SFL?
Because(translate self-bump to self-found):

I can give my current thoughts on self-bumping.

In the existing forums, there is nothing stopping anyone from self-bumping, and we know many of our players do. We also have players that only rarely bump other players' threads, trolling and flaming occasionally.

So, as you can self-bump in existing forums, I doubt we need to separate out the forums. The question then is, are there discussion problems with self-bumping? I think there are two parts to this:

Can you post entirely self-bumped? Currently there are issues with this, especially in the trading subforums. One of the main problems here is the availability of front-page space. Gear trading gets hard here, as replacement threads require both beating existing threads in posts, and in linked gear. This isn't usually an issue earlier, as you aren't needing full exposure, and can skimp on posts and still progress quickly.

If we are going to make changes, it will likely be on the ability to make or the availability of multiple threads.

The second issue is, what is the player expectation of self-bumping? In general, the main issue comes when players look to the top page and to streamers to direct what their post experience would be like. This gives players a very distorted view of what they should be able to post. In general those players are pushing every advantage they can from trade forums, off-topic, suggestions...

Often, when I get told - "everyone is posting X", and I have a look, there are often only a handful of people posting, its just often these threads are the most visible. An example of this is 6-link Shavronne's. If I look at the trade forums, in all leagues, posted in the last month, well under 50 players have Shavronne's Wrappings for sale. And if I look at the posts, if you want to get trolled, wear a Shavronne's.

We will not be making a new forum to make it possible to replicate the posts of these players. 1) We don't think its needed. 2) From past experience, if we make accommodations to make it possible to replicate these players' posts, these players will still flame you. If we made a self-bump forum with competitive advantages but solo posting, you'll see the same threads at the top of those forums, and we'll get a new set of complaints from people who want to replicate the threads without the same investment in posts.

Yeah, have fun playing solo all day long forever and ever. How fun. Must be nice being a hermit or just socially awkward. I rather play with others once in a while.

SFL would have only 100 people on the whole server anyways. You can play SFL anytime you want, no need for a seperate league.

I rather have more orb drops to make singleplayer more fun and reduce the need for trading.

I hate trading with Clarissa all the time because its the only way to get a decent amount of orbs just to go and find more orbs...
I appreciate the time it took for all the feedback in this thread. If I could only ask one question it would be:

Are the developers happy with the map system as it relates to maps dropping and how difficult it can be to maintain a map pool, and are there any plans to address/change this system in the future?

It is by far the most annoying and de-motivator in this game.
