I'm on a break.
I have playd since february last year so I have invested alot of time into this game. Don't regret it but now I just can't find the passion for the game anymore. For me it's the endgame. It's just so un-rewarding. The map system is ok for awhile, but it being the only endgame just kills it for me. 3.3 RF Trickster SSF HC guide :

The very vast majority of my friend's list has gone inactive, though that may only be the end of the league's fault.
I wonder, how many players are currently on Path of Exile? Currently, there are 2737 people playing through Steam, granted its not even 8AM yet. I guess the majority of people are playing without Steam, though, since "As of February 28, 2014 the game has five million registered players". Is PoE in decline or is it gaining new players? Double post. Can't believe I really quoted my post instead of editing it

It's going to lose players at the end of every league, and then gain them again at the start of a new one. Just the way it is.

I don't care about Shavs or Kaoms. The best uniques should be rare as hell. I went 5-6 years without seeing any of the best uniques in D2 - and that's fine.
But when you're running around with mediocre gear, doing high end maps - for 8 months without seeing a SINGLE good rare, I loose my passion. I have come to the point of KNOWING I'm not going to find my carrots. It's sad. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

diablo 2 did many things better than poe
1 items first of all diablo 2 did the smart thing by not having many garbage affixes, every stat could be used by some one reasonably. second character stats were less dependent on gear. sure you can argue that things like resists and the + skills were mostly on the gear.. you didnt have over 80% of your life resists mana and skills on your gear. even the most twinked diablo 2 players will only have +20 to all skills , that means half of your power is still on your build. third there were end game worthy uniques that didnt take forever to get. I am still waiting on the poe equivalent of the occulus. Ill probably be waiting forever. it didnt take much, having just one of those level 40ish good uniques could allow you to do all but uber tristram. That gave you a ton of leeway to upgrade your other gear slots. 2 resists, having the resists capped at 75 meant that all the content had to be balanced around 75% resists. Often people in poe quit because their build doesnt have the right passives and or skills to get 95% resist all. and 95% resist is not an option in some of the highest level areas. 3 poe has been and still is rough around the edges. desync, badly implemented race mechanics (such as the ability for enemy mobs to finish their final attack command after the race has finished) and ridiculously inconsistent item progression are constantly grinding on the patience of the player base. its hard to have fun when you know the game is stacking things it really shouldn't be stacking against you |

Yeah, resists right now are TOO IMPORTANT not to have currently. I hate this. I hate shopping for gear that almost always MUST HAVE good resists.
also, this game is still about life stacking. If you're not taking shittons of life nodes or have big strength/life modifiers on your gear you're in for a world of hurt. I want a game that has alternative to just making your mana pool huge by end-game. There are a few exceptions to this rule, but otherwise? |
