i installed this game to have fun playin it, not to grind it, even when it may include SOME grind to be rewarded with good lvl or equip - but im sure none of us came here just to grind the game,collect and collect, even when it may include SOME 'fun'.



kill to grind? = may have some fun if its rewarding, and there's no such thing in POE

Kill to play? = total fun, until u need to kill and kill just to grind ur next gea

As long as you have a hope that one day you will drop Soul Taker, mirror, whatever, you keep playing, I guess. That's for majority of players, as for rich players, they probably enjoy their richness and increase it even more. From time to time you can see threads on the forum where some of them are quitting and giving away wealth.

99% of my death -> Desync in cyclone.

With this damn desync you cant play a build with cyclone is you mainattack.

So I think I will leave this game :/

1. D2 did have a grind, but it was a rewarding grind. Rewarding enough for me to have 10 chars strong enough to rip a monster's face off and wear it as a mask, and dying to something 20 levels below me wasn't possible.

2. RNG isn't RNG. There is RNG that nets you a complete Sigons Set by level 40, and there is RNG that gets you 1 leveling unique through 2 difficulties combined, followed by 8 million worthless leveling uniques in 75+ zones.

3. Dude, D2 didn't have desync.

The difference between D2 and PoE in this context is that D2 was cakewalk.

PvE content was trivial and players felt like gods playing the normal game.

The real meta was in pvp etc, or farming god mode style for new stuff.

Well that's just my opinion i might be wrong. But RPG players love to feel like a god in content, while losing in PvP situations does not harm that view since another player resembles another god in this context.

In PoE the game just bitch slaps you, and when you get up, you get double bitch slapped.

In d2 you where perfectly able to own content without good gear, PoE is a constant gear check so you cannot.

This makes the grind a necessity for progression. Instead of a non mandatory hunt.
People love hunting for jewels in RPG's, but not when those jewels are needed to clear the game. Only to increase there already godlike power.

becasue gamers have this wierd habit of playing games until they hate them instead of just taking a break every once and a while, it seems. people love saying this game is missing something compared to D2. well I got news for ya its not. Did you really play D2 NONSTOP for 10 years? no you took breaks probably long breaks many times. maybe a month maybe a year, but when you booted it up after that long break it was fun. same thing with PoE. you are gonna get burned out after 500 hours of grinding take a break for 6 months come back and you'll find the magic returned just as it did with D2.

I probably wont seriously start playing again until after I put 500 hours into Dark Souls 2. Thats gonna be a while but when I do get back into this game seriously. I wont hate it. I'll be ready to try all the new gems and kills thousands of monsters all over again.

I still play D2. And D2 does have desync. It's not as significant as in PoE but there is desync.

You could argue that RNG was kinda off in D2 LoD with rune words. Because runes got duped and if you had a the right runes you had a good bloody armor/wep. Ofc you had a little RNG in the roll of runewords and finding the right item (superior+good socs+good base item).

But man those other slots that had no runewords? 100% rng! Did you even fucking craft in D2 or were you a casual scrub? Spending shit ton of PGs farming them ancients tunnels for hours (100% Grind and RNG).
