Why have you stopped playing?
Got bored, I have less time to play and I've gotten into DOTA 2 and now lately the Hearthstone OB. I come on the site once in a while to see the updates on the game but ARPGs just take too long to play honestly.

What is it with you people and whining about 'shitty drops'? I mean seriously whining that everything in a D2-like game is super rate is like complaining you got wet cus' you took a walk in the damn rain. I mean seriously.
These games are skinner boxes, wonderful fun and comfortable skinner boxes, if the machine gave you a treat every time you hit the button you'd oversaturate the reward response and get bored with the game even faster. Just live with the fact that you wont have the best gear ever, you can do just fine with less than optimal gear. Just click things and quit whining. Closed beta member since: March 19, 2012

" Highest level char 61? Come talk to me about end game 1k hours after you finish your first map buddy.
" QFT " If a game takes 1000 hours to get boring, I'd say that's a pretty damn good game. |

Bad game design decisions + nerfing + everything takes too much time + too much mod bs on the forums.
Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.
We hate to say, but ProjectPT was right. |

" Do you see that thing in my signature? That thing that says I played since 2012? Yeah, I've done maps. I've had like...at least twenty characters at level 70 or so. Either way, just because the game doesn't give you all the phat loots for free doesn't mean the loot system is broken. It's supposed to be like that, it's how they keep you playing. Like it or not, games like this one are highly manipulative, the fact everything is rare is how they keep you playing. Just be happy GGG haven't and probably aren't going to put currency orbs in the store. Closed beta member since: March 19, 2012

" I don't think anyone is asking for anything for free. I just want constant progression, as long as content/item progression is available. Dropping a few hundred hours of solo play since your last usable/sell-able item was looted is just frustrating. Some people might enjoy hundreds of hours of fruitless grind, some might constantly reroll to avoid this, but I am a progression fiend. I always want my char to get bigger, faster, and stronger. This is all just my opinion though, and people can disagree with it.
" So. Roll a new character. There's a reason why I got so many characters, after a while I find out my build was stupid or boring or progression slows down to the point where it doesn't engage me any more, then I roll a new one. The high level character I have are pretty much reserved for playing with when I'm with my buddies. When I play solo I'm almost always rolling a new dude. Closed beta member since: March 19, 2012

" I'm weird about this though. I have a hard time building another char before the first one feels "complete" in my eyes. My Nemesis gear is decent, but it's nowhere near the best, and it's not even close tbh.
Spoiler
It's all pretty nice stuff, that sword isn't even close to the full dps potential. I have about 600 hours of solo play on this char in Nemesis, and I quit playing about a week ago after once again dropping all of my Ex/Eternal into crafting something and failing.
I come every now and then to check update notes. Havent seen anything that would excite me yet. I was hoping 1.1 would have groundbreaking changes, but not that hopeful anymore after seeing that long worked on and anticipated trade overhaul is still way less efficient than poe.xyz.
PoE had some amazing features that would make it a legend; passive tree, skill system, support gem system. But on the other hand it fails badly in delivering the very basics of what I would expect from an ARPG: kill stuff for item progression, reactive gameplay requiring player skills. Also content being gated behind RNG is just lame. I should be allowed to give it a shot at hardest content anytime I want, and only barrier should be my character's power and my player skills. Even though D3 fails so badly in the areas PoE excels, RoS will excel in the very basics which PoE fails. I guess I will take the advice of fanboys, and go back to D3 until Grim Dawn comes out. |
