Why have you stopped playing?

I currently am still playing on and off, but I'm going to stop soon. Here are my reasons.

- Game gets boring after continuously running through same content with different characters. Levels 1-30 get painful after creating numerous toons.

- Too life dependent if you wish to get far, causing many builds to be similar.

- Too gear dependent if you wish to get far, causing many builds to utilize same gear / stats on gear.

- Desync desync desync. Would love to play HC league but can't be bothered to knowing at some point at some level, I will wind up in the middle of a mob out of nowhere getting killed with no chance to rescue myself. And I will NOT Alt-F4 like a bitch just because its a "viable strategy".. I'm not a child, I will take my death like a man.. just not when its because of poor netcode.

- Low Drop rate of orbs = making crafting unviable unless you RMT or happen to find a .000001% amazing drop which you can turn around and trade. It also serves to make orbs the "currency" that this game is supposed to not use, remember?

- Even IF you were to gain crafting materials, the RNG will fuck you constantly, making crafting a frustrating endeavor more times than not. Even just getting the right colors on a 4l can sometimes take a full stack of chromes.. this is not even unfair, its just plain stupid.

- Most drops in the game are only vendor-worthy.. takes an immense amount of time and luck to find anything of significant value, and even then the chances are very high that it will not be viable to use with the build you are currently working on.

- End game map system, though interesting as far as concept, is a broken system. Players cannot sustain map pools and are forced to grind the same content as they have for days/weeks to even get to maps and find initial maps. Also, maps do not have any buff to item drops keeping drop rates poor even WITH quantity/quality.. I've read enough and seen enough to know that even with high MF, you can still get absolutely nothing AND after spending tons of orbs/chisels..

- Low end items can still drop in very high level areas. Thanks for the ilvl 75 club with 10-22 physical damage.

- Some mechanics in game are beyond annoying such as lightning thorns and reflect

- many skills in the game are useless. Many uniques in this game are useless. Many mods that can be rolled on gear are useless.

- Skills and builds constantly getting nerfed at random points in time yet content stays the same = balance is a moving target and always seems off

- probability of finding direct upgrades for your gear thoughout the life of a character is way way too low = not rewarding to find your own items.

- trade is pushed far too much leading to crazy prices set by users on gear, making much of the gain unattainable or "gated" from large percentage of player-base.

- GGG seems to put more onus on creating new content and nerfing existing content as opposed to fixing core mechanics within the game (Trade, Desync, Difficulty Scaling)

- Scaling between Act 3 and Act 3.5 is totally out of whack - you go run Piety easily only to head to scepter of god and almost get three-shot.. what in the fuck..

- have to deal with many people to trade, many of whom are greedy as could be and generally unfriendly.. although some are helpful, reading bitching and elitism on the forums is pathetic and not inviting, especially to new players

- in order to achieve anything a player is required to donate way too much of their time and GGG doesn't appear to be interested to create separate leagues to accommodate more casual players, which the vast majority are..

I could go on, but I think I made my point. This is not to say that I haven't had fun with this game.. I think GGG have done a great job with many fascets of the game, and the fact that its free is great.. but that is not enough IMO to save it from its shortcomings.

Many players who love the game and support it will stand by it no matter what.. that is their prerogative.. but to turn a blind eye to all of the problems and challenges this game has is unfair to the playerbase and also to GGG.

People will come and go, but I doubt this game will ever reach its true potential after its extended Closed and Open Beta phase already passed, and large number of players who have already played themselves out of this game.
Other games are coming along now that will match and surpass what this game has to offer, and it will be a steady decline to where only hardcore streamers and traders and botters will bother with this game. This to me is the greatest shame of what has had the makings to be a top tier game.

+1

The game is great but could be legendary.

No, not if. When.

Then I look at the Skilldrasil and find something else I want to try.

Rinse and repeat.

The important thing is I always enjoy the bits before the wall, even though I know it's waiting for my head sooner or later.

Hypothetically, there is one thing GGG could do, or rather not do, that would have me quit entirely. I won't say what it is or when I want it done by because that'd be blackmail, and I'm not into that. I've pushed it with them repeatedly, so we'll see. I have my own internal deadline for when it should be addressed, after which point I will quit until it is addressed. I hope this is also When, not If.

Boredom.

I believe that more leveling uniques that enable builds to blitz through 1-45 yet not facetank at 60 are necessary.

Running Normal/Cruel Piety for my 15th alt when I want to test Cast on Crit Storm Call gets boring after the first 48 hours of play. If you'll gate builds like Summoner behind the level 65 wall, might as well make getting to 65 not feel like you're watching someone watching paint dry.
I've stopped playing...

because my GPU is broken, it overheats anytime I try to play a game. I'm bored as hell now, all I can do is read the forums while listening to music.
Finally stopped playing a couple of days ago because:

-I do not like GGG's attitude towards their customers. It may be a free game but I believe every active player has bought at least one stash tab bundle which by the way is ridiculously overpriced lol. I've started to think that all those millions of shituniques mobs drop are meant so that we would buy stashtabs in the hopes of selling one of those shitty uniques for an alch to have some kind of income at least.
And by shitty attitude I also mean everything going around desync and their forcing players to party up in this particular game mode.

-In the last 3-4 months that I've played I haven't seen a single unique worth more than an exalt drop, not to mention rares and what not. Considering I have almost 3x lvl 90 characters and the best drop I've gotten in almost a year has been a bringer of rain, says something is really wrong with this game. Funny thing is most of that time I've played as a magic finder and I listened and told myself its just shitty rng I got but I finally realized that in this game to be wealthy you either have to have no social life or you could just rmt like half of the people do.

-I tried starting to craft myself a crit harbringer bow. 20 exalts(about 6k alts and those are just the ones I bought, I also put all the alterations I looted myself into that bow) in alterations later, I have seen tyrannical show up twice on it, both times with another shitty option.

-The last "big" changes they made pissed in pretty much any ranger character with the devourers, barrier guys & the trees jumping out of the ground and 1hitting people with 5k es, not to mention the fact that half of the mapbosses are not doable for most of us, which GGG simply still after a couple dozen threads, doesn't understand.

-It all started going downhill after they screwed up the auras and tried to push people even further into playing in groups. Path of life nodes went to path of aura nodes instead.

-I don't like the idea of being forced into playing a certain build with the skilltree given. But clearly most of those GGG lovers seem to think that people have to "adapt" to desync and ridiculously strong bosses. Seems like they want all of us to be playing max block builds.

I'm not quitting, but this discouraged me from making any new characters.
You won't have my gear.
Man, I was going to buy a Supporter Pack soon but after reading the comments in this thread, I've decided otherwise.

Downer.

Well buff monsters and nerf players = balance
+ very poor balance endgame builds = some fine and OK, other don't even half good for endgame.
