Why have you stopped playing?
I am taking some weeks of break now.
I just want to know why does GGG value that much on the trading in PoE. They have theoretically negated (and so far could not persuaded) the needs of self-found leagues in threads, but in the first place I do not see any reason why they want the obsolete trading system in the game. Actually I have some dozens of exalted orbs and some eternal orbs in my stash (in HC leagues). So the trading system rewarded me a lot by exploiting currencies from other players. That's the reason I am off now I think. I just want to know clearly what does GGG want to achieve with the existing trading system. Is the system working as intended? Are the majority or acceptable amount of players satisfied with the current trading system or the existence of the trading system? Only the GGG knows the answer for these questions. " Oh man I almost chocked on my coffee reading this. If there is one aRPG out there where I know legendary/set items are most likely gonna be worthless, it is D3. IGN : @Morgoth

" Most likely is a lot better than "guaranteed", so you almost choked on your coffee proving my point.
" It proves nothing, the fact that you sold a Tal Rasha amulet for a lot of $$$ and the 5 previous ones were trash say more about how the itemization sucks in D3 and nothing about how it is in PoE. No main stat ? Trash ! No crit ? Trash ! No Apoc ? Trash ! On 100 lengedary helmets you'll drop in D3, how many are gonna be mempo's ? And on these mempo's, how many gonna have at least a crit roll (that can still be shit also) ? The fact that some people just play casino by buying unid legendaries in bulks and try to get those mandatory mods on their items say how bad it is. At least in PoE, when you drop your BoR, you know it's gonna be good, even with bad rolls. That system is way better. "Well I still have to see a BoR drop" some will say. Well, in around 700h of d3 playing I dropped 2 mempo's and both were shit. I dropped 2 BoR in the Onslaught league alone. IGN : @Morgoth Last edited by Morgoth2356#3009 on Jan 9, 2014, 8:11:03 AM

" Remember when 53-ish rares dropped on Inferno? It was fascinating time!
" Did you like the D3 "crafting"? When you press one button and it tells you to fuck off? And I fully agree with Unid legendaries argument. If you watched streams, softcore streamers only picked up rings and amys and legendaries. HC picked everything 61+ I guess. That's how excellent D3 drops were! But of course PoE with manually controlled crafting and chancing uniques is much worse! It doesn't have l00t 2.0, what are we discussing at all???
Fishing troll forum postings from other players drove me to hate my life so I picked up weightlifting again and enrolled in another Master's course and greatly reduced my gameplay.
Nah, but seriously... A tweak to drop rates qualities based on level of the zone would be nice. I'm to level 84, so it's really getting grindy doing anything with my main character nowadays. It seems the item bases dropping are generally OK, because I've only found one six-socket driftwood maul, but seeing poor mods appear somewhat less frequently on rare items would be a nice thing to have. Dumpster of Souls is going to be released soon for y'all non-believers!
So you could exodus there and find yourself in heaven with 5000.0 DPS weapons. After one week on Softcore 5000.0 DPS swords will become shit because streamer's top end weapons will be 10000.0 DPS and you'll whine on Blizzard forums the same whines you're writing here. And of course minimally controlled crafted good stuff (and everything) will be Account bound, so friends couldn't help you gear up!
I stopped playing because:
This game, although a very fun game, starts to lose its charm when you've reached end game. The end game in Path of Exile imo, is lacking in many ways. For one, it is not accessible to players who aren't superbly rich or play self found or even solo, which I find quite weird since throughout most of the game, you are in fact playing by yourself, you don't see another soul unless you choose to join a party or create one. The maps content is quite limited and doesn't really bring any new excitement to a already grind oriented game. All it is, is the same game content disguised in the label " Maps" with harder monsters. You grind for hours with no new achievement in terms of items or progression ( higher tier maps ). However I do understand that its based a lot on luck if not entirely on luck, which is fine. However when the entire game is purely killing the same monsters over and over again, it gets old really quick. Especially if your basically locked out of higher tier maps unless you buy them. I grinded through a whole bunch of 66-69 maps saving up 40 level 70 maps hoping that id be able to progress into higher tier maps, but in return I've got a few 71 and 72 maps, nothing you would expect from 40x70 maps. Maybe some will say that 40x70 maps is nothing. However, the time I spent soloing those 66-69 maps to save up that amount of 70 maps was alot to me and the return was mere garbage. This is probably the first game I've played that has the least amount of reward for time played. There are many other games that are grind oriented, but with much better reward for the time played. I am not rich in the game since I do not spend entire days in trade chat trying to sell all my loot and play the market or RMT, that would be a different game altogether. Although I haven't played as long as some of the players here, I've logged my share of time. And during that time I've had lots of fun, but in the end I don't feel that this game is a long term game that it is trying to be. At least for me. I've tried to come back and play but I just can't, this game has lost all meaning for me and I probably won't be back. Even when new content comes out. Thanks for the time POE. Farewell. P.S. Yes, I've made multiple new characters and different builds to extend the playability of this game, however I decided to settle on a single build that I liked and worked for me. Some poeple like to make new characters every week or every month but there are also players that like to stick to something they like. Last edited by Orionstar#4752 on Jan 9, 2014, 8:34:50 AM

I have not exactly quit the game but my playtim has drastically shrinked.
I noticed an increase in chaos orbs dropping for me but that's not enough to make me want to stay: I play self found so I only use them to craft but crafting is, as the French say, merde. Don't get me wrong, I've even been able to 6L one object. 20 Fusings and I 6L it! Amazing! That boosted my expectation for the game. The second one I'm trying to link, though, has sucked away more than 500 fusing without ever pushing out a 5L... Until the game is made available for solo players I'll rarely be in Wraeclast, and once RoS is out I think I'll say goodbye. |
