Why have you stopped playing?

Will Play again when new leagues hit.
But unrewarding loot and not beng able to surpass the gearwall without trading made me quit the game some weeks ago.
Took a look at Grim Dawn, but..meh :-)

Quit because got too addicted and finally died on lvl91 on nemesis horrible stupidly for corruption blood (3rd time in a row on nemesis to cb). Decided it would be pretty good time to let it go since I feel in some point everyone dies on nemesis.

I grind and grind and grind with decent rarity and cant ever seem to find any unique items of consequence. The drop rates are so insanely low on good gear that I feel that I am just pointlessly wasting time chasing drops that will never come.

The monk forums are BY FAR friendlier, and a LOT more willing to help others. These forums? It's all about who's got the biggest fucking e-peen, not a single thread EVER stays on topic, and fanboys are eventually going to be the main reason for this games demise. Yeah, keep telling yourself & the dev's that the games perfect, when no one is around except for the same few fuckin fanboys you better keep that wallet open to keep on donating cause you'll be the only ones here.

PoE has a LOT of competition coming up soon from other games hitting the market in a couple months. But I'm pretty sure by this time the majority of the people here know how disgusting these forums are.

They finally stopped spamming nazi crap over there?

Those other forums used to be pretty bad; maybe they've been tempered by the departure of all much of the rabble.

1. Desync. It limits what builds I can use, what skills I can use, and the developers seem to think its an issue on my end when this is the only game that does it for me...I feel desync with the game is hopeless...so theres no motive to stick it out for the solution down the road.

2. Path of Trading. I want to kill monsters, take their loot, get more powerful from it and play the game. I don't want to get stuck near or at endgame because I cant find the gear and I refuse to RMT for the insane orb prices gear goes for. Trading isn't fun. Trading turned D2 into a complete pile of trash, and its doing the same to POE. Self found league will not fix issue (despite SFL isn't an option) because the itemization and drop rates are low to protect the economy.

I have some other minor issue but I will lump them into one

3. Archaic game design for the sake of being archaic. It seems the developers are so hard set on their game designs that even simple improvements are shot down..without even consideration it seems. When I hear Chris speak about this game, and his vision...I kinda cringe. Appealing to the uber hardcore D2 vets is one thing, but making the game unenjoyable for those who are not...its going to keep the game niche...and I know this game already has some retention issues. A creative developer can appeal to the hardcore crowd, make the quality of life in the game better, without making it a cake walk or dumbed down. I know its not easy...and this is a general lumped together reason consisting of many smaller issues that I feel the developers don't care about or flat out wont consider alternative because it wasn't part of the exact D2 experience they had 10 years ago.



Ill probably be back at some point. I think the game has potential. I did leave shortly after launch due to desync, and came back...but this time, I have a much better understanding of the direction of this game...and ill be frank...for what this game does so very right...it does two things so very wrong...and I feel there are much better ARPG games out there...because of the three reasons I stated above. Which makes me sad. I hope GGG makes good use of the money ive tossed at them, and I can come back in 6 months to a desync free game...but issues 2 and 3 are never going away...ive realized this...and im fairly confident reason 1 isn't ever going away either.
