Not everyone agrees that hardcore characters should transfer to standard, but that didn't stop GGG from making a hardcore league. They can decide on the details after they decide that the premise is a good one.
Your character dying in hardcore league as one main focus, that he isn't in hardcore league anymore or existed in it. Transferring to standard is an easy yes or no answer for a person who plays hardcore to answer. The hassle of deleting your character once he/she hits standard is about much hassle as turning off trade/global chat and deciding to not trade people and partying with my friends.
Are you telling me it's that easy for SFL to be made with the input of every single SFL person who wants their game to be unique and fit within their own exceptions.

Am neither for or against a SFL, but would you peeps who want a SFL still want one, if GGG got rid of orbs and replaced it with gold and enchanting merchants/etc? Because to me the current currency system is what stopping SF players from being content.
Crafting/mapping would be just the same currency sink as it is now, but your progress would only be hindered by how much gold you got, not by how many "x amount" of orb types you have, as it is now.

How would I keep track of how many I got from 1-50? I said I had another page that I gave to my friends and more that died on my other characters. Also what do you mean "I forgot drop rates in single player RPGs? Also if your comparing fine items for beating the game to 78 map drop items, then EVERYTHING you find before 78 maps is trash. This is what I don't understand about self-found players, it doesn't matter if they buff the drop rates because you >STILL< won't find the good items because they only drop in high level maps.
How often do you find Zod runes in D2? How many people HONESTLY crafted their own engimas or chains of honor. How many people got jewels to craft their gear? Rune Masters? Death's Fathom? Tyrael's Might that are socketed? There are tons and tons of items that make very niche builds just like PoE that you will NEVER find in single player. I played Torchlight 2, D2, Titan Quest and all games similar self-found, with friends and sometimes with an online character.
I am not "against" self found league, I am saying you players are hypocritical of exactly what you want and they cannot make a "self found league" that would be good enough for all of you. You will continue to complain and complain until there are 20 different "official self found" leagues for all of the different type of players out there.
For example your counterargument of saying what I said is like not making new skills and items because everyone would be not satisfied. That doesn't apply because new skills and items would apply to every single one in the game so everyone can use it and adds >content< to the game. Adjusting arbitrary rules/drop rates/features to the game to custom craft and tailor it to one person or a small group of people, who on top of don't trade or play with other players so it only affects >themselves< therefore there's 1000 different expectations and ways someone wants a self-found league. So just "coming up" with one would be a mostly ineffective endeavor because they will not make "Self found solo only don't trade" players happy, because you in fact already do not like the base game (which is what you know, the vision of what the company has for the game.)
The only difference in PoE from D2,titan quest, Torchlight ect is that you can mod the game to massively add drop rates or do whatever you want in the game to add custom content to how you like it. Which is how many people play the game how they like it, the only way that'll happen is like I mentioned before in my posts. They will come out with a system were you can buy your own league.
You dont know how many unqiues you got from 1 to 50? What is hard to count about it, you get only few of them anyway. Its not like you are playing torchlight 2, where you will get ton of uniques and set items.
You see for d2 you are right, the problem is i dont care about best of the best items. I do not care about runes in d2, same as 6 best linked in PoE, I dont need them to complete the game.
I will copy my d2 post:
"How much do you need to farm in d2 before you can complete hell? Almost nothing. You see in d2, boss runs droped very good loot for much shorter time invested in farming compared to PoE.
In diablo 2 best of best items drop as bad as in PoE. The problems is, other good items like unique and set items drop few times more than in PoE just by farming bosses. In PoE to progress to last dif, you need to farm 5 times more than you need to do in diablo 2. And for map it sky rocks to roof as you need now to farm for maps also
Not only that, how many unique and set items did you get before even hitting hell in d2? On average around 10 and more. How many unique do you get from playing PoE in first 2 dif? If you are luck you will get around 2 xD.
You see, just by farming in d2, you get few times better items for time invested compared to PoE. I do not care about best of best items in PoE as i dont need it to complete the game, but you need good items, and the drop rates for them suck compared to good items that you need in d2 to complete the game."
Also i find it funny if you played tl2 and didnt notice difference in drops. In that game you get a upgrade without to need to farm at all, just play the game and clear everything. Not only that you can complete whole sets just playing in first dif. You will get ton of uniques, even as quest rewords. So dont talk BS and compare drops in tl2 to PoE.
Also, you are so wrong about what is difference between torchlight 2, titan quest and this. I dont know even where to start. And no, it has nothing to do with modding, and everything has to do with no working economy, and no need to trade.
But thank you that you dont have anything against this league. There is no hypocritical about people wanting to play the game and get rewords for it without need to trade or invest 100h in farming just to progress. Same shit as d3 all over again. If GGg doesnt know how to balance the drop rates, let them play torchlight or TQ or d2, and count when you get upgrades, how many uniques you get, do you farm and how much do you farm for a reword, and then apply it to PoE. All people that want SF will shut up, i guarantee you that.

Any thoughts from an SFL enthusiast?
It simple. I don't care is trade possible or not, I just want that the game is balanced and its drop rates around the player, not around economy. This game and drop rates are balanced around economy, we all know that, and that is the core problem of everything in this game.
Because of the economy the "crafting" is so much luck based and not progression based (need currency sink so economy doesn't crash). Same things for maps and it drops, and for all items.
If i want it to be extreme, let GGG play vanilla torchlight 2 (look how they did end game maps), and see drop rates in that game, or grim dawn.
Drop rates in this game is worse of all arpgs I played, and that is a fact.

Honestly suggesting TL2 as an example pretty much spells it out. That game was ridiculously easy to gear. It wasn't a bad game, I actually enjoyed it when I played it, but it is very easy to burn yourself out on. I think I played around 2 weeks.
Why exactly do you want that kind of drop rate here?

I don't really agree (which infact does justify the other posters' confusion/arguments). I WANT rare items to be... well, rare. Higher drop rates only serve to make the game easier, look no further than RoS beta streams to understand this concept. I don't want an EASIER game, I want a more challenging experience (and to play with others of the same mindset).
It is the trading and easy access to powerful items that I precisely DON'T want. It is true that there are many opinions on this, just like every other aspect of arpgs.

Good, you actually played the game, there where some posters here saying tl2 and poe drop rates are same xD. You can easy see what it means when the drop rates are balanced around economy, or around a player. PoE extreme in one way, tl2 in the other way.
Well to say the truth i would much more prefer that drop rates than PoE drop rates, but I agree tl2 drop rates are really extreme. And that is why I said extreme in my post when using tl2 as example. The more balanced drop rates I saw are for titan quest, almost perfect for time invested in playing and rewords.

Your missing the point, everything you said is the version of PoE of how EXACTLY >you< would want it. There are many other SFL league people here that disagree with increasing drop rates or changes how you'll like it. You do not speak for all of the SFL league people and what version they want, which is my point. GGG cannot just "make" a SFL league because it'll never work. What if they made a SFL league were you can only play solo and not trade with people and that's it? Guess what you would still complain about the game.
TFL2 and PoE are EXACTLY the same in progression rate were you can find your way up to beat the game, they are completely different at end game.
Getting gear to beat the game /=/ best gear in the game
Also why do you act like TF2 sets or getting amount of legendaries matter, the more there are the more worthless they are. All loot is is a set of number assigned to a shiny color, it >has< no value and is valued what you think it is and how far it can get you through the game.

First the thing I must say. The time invested in farming does not make this or any other game harder or easier, it makes it more time consuming.
Now in PoE if you trade the time you need to invest in farming is shorter, but because I dont want to trade, as it is boring and not interesting for me, the farming for items becomes long. So I want to play the game without the need to trade and get same time invested to get rewords as people that trade.

Wrong about time consumption.
When sometime requires lots of time and dedication it by default is more difficult to get because it requires an individual willing to devote time.
That would be a form of difficulty.
If everyone could do everything in a day, by your definition, we couldn't call the game easy because time allocation is not a form of difficulty. By your definition.
Regardless, the time dedication results in a greater feeling of success when you actually get something you want from the game, either a piece of loot or pass some content.
EDIT: And also, by your definition, if everyone could find BiS gear in a day we couldn't call the game easy.
