We have to go deeper.

Describe 10 ways receiving a beta key would make the world a better place.

Describe 10 horrible things you would do if you don't receive a beta key.

List a long, complicated word for each letter within "BETA KEY" - Start with B.

Take the corresponding number for each letter within "BETA KEY" - B=2,E=5, ect.) Add them all up, divide by 2.

List the names of famous people, whose name each start with a letter within the phrase "BETA KEY" - ex. B=Benjamin Franklin

You must do all of the above, and the OP must review all answers and approve a winner.

Charity contest.

Eligible persons must donate to a good charity (any denomination) After a certain amount of time, number of validated donations are assigned a number and then a random number generator is used to pick the winner.

Even if you lose the beta contest, you still win for helping someone less fortunate than yourself.

Hide the key somewhere on the internet (In an account you own, something like the signature, personal info etc., give smart clues as to where it might be. Of course some people will be put at a disadvantage, so perhaps creating one in some scarcely known but google-discoverable forum would work better.
You could even make a treasure hunt out of it, giving another clue once the first goal has been reached. I think that would be very interesting, though it might take a while.

Example: I hide the key (or the second clue) on Newgrounds, in a news post on my account. In order to find this account, I would post a review of a flash submission posted on the frontpage for ease of access.

So, the first clue would be something like 'flash portal,' or the name of the site as to not make it too unfair to those who do not know the site. 'Shape shooter' if, say, Geometry Wars was featured on the frontpage. Then I would post the review, with something written in it like simply 'PoE', and in the account there'd be a news post with the key or another clue.

I've been thinking for a long time there's not a lot of fanart or thing that you see often in a gaming community as i like to see how creative and awesome the comunity is if you could do that im sure it could be interesting.
Make a contest to desing a new logo for path of exile (I think the actual one is a little ugly).
Make a contest where the guy who says the name of the item you show wins!

Or...

You could just make a contest where the person who tells you the best way to give a key away wins :P
Hmm... What should I write here?

A fight to the death. With spears..and we'll also include a lion for good measure in case one of the parties isn't able to handle the challenge.

You could also turn the key into a mathematical algorithm for someone to figure out. Sorta even gives those without artistic or gaming talents to participate. Because..everyone can math!

You could mix up the key a good bit so people would have to figure out the correct key.

example:
correct key: 1234-5678-abcd-efgh

mixed key: 2341-7568-bdca-egfh

obviously you could make the post longer and have them hidden better, but in order so not to tease..

then you have them press CTRL+F then 8 press enter to accept, the 8's will glow up in ur post, and the other letters/numbers wont. :)
