My thoughts on 1.0 details! .... Oh wait, there are no details.

Yep, I mail support too. Quite regularly. GGG are rather tolerant of me, thanks guys.
I am looking forward to release.

I am not informed as to what will be added in release other than the rest of Act 3, and therefore I have no expectations.

Also, I will reserve my judgments until after I have played through and thoroughly explored any content that is to be added, regardless of how time consuming or significant it will be to be experience. The content will speak for GGG when its time comes and until then I will wait and maybe eat a bagel or something.

I love the fact that they couldn't finish Act 3 in time meant that the in-the-can trailer was actually one big fucking spoiler.

If that video doesn't get a person excited for Release, then I strongly doubt much will.

Hey op, I've posted on something similar quite recently and share some of your views.

Since my observation of the lack of communication (though I was referring more to past events), I noticed a mini spike in communication. This includes Carl's commentary on pvp and Chris' confirmation of no more in game placements)

On 1.0 details I do agree that that has been scant, but think that's Ok for now. I rather they tease the trap patch 0.11.6 since that seems interesting and is more immediate.

I guess 6 weeks is just a little too long to hold my juices in...

Yes yes, I'm a little bit of a fan, but that hadn't stopped me from calling GGG out on issues in the past. Likewise for guys like Charan and Lyralei. They most definitely aren't blind followers and have lodged their concerns with the game before on issues such as balance.
What do we need details of 1.0 for, exactly?
It's like getting spoilers to a book you're looking forward to reading.

I have many problems with GGG's (lack of) communication, but I don't understand the necessity of getting pre-release information out to the beta audience.
This thread is pointless. wait a few weeks, relax.

There is NO lack of communication with GGG. Mail support and see.

You want things, they decide not to give them. Stop being a needy 5 year old and let them do things their way.

Because seriously, this thread is 5 year old behaviour.
Come with me, back to the glorious 80's. There was no internet, the only way to get information about an upcoming game was to wait for the next issue of Nintendo Power and drool over the one-page article within. Marvel at the fact that people didn't need to know every single detail about a game to get excited about it! Savor the anticipation and the surprise!

I really hate the internet, sometimes.

This is quite the interesting thread.

I joined POE community back in March of 2012 and fell in love with this game. During close beta, I remember that GGG was constantly updating the community on what they were doing. There was A LOT of feedback going around. It was not uncommon to see staff response from players that made threads discussing what they liked and didn't like about the game. They took all feed back to heart. There were also interviews every once in a while which I loved. Also build of the week and Chris hopping on Krips stream were awesome as well.

After Open Beta it all changed. At first they promised a lot of updates and 1 skill per week(which I thought was ludicrous!), but over time GGG grew silent. Sure they have kept doing fantastic work and releasing regular game updates, but at a much lower rate than before.

Unlike others, I do not think that it is because of lack of updates/info regarding the future, in fact these guys never sleep so they could easily keep updating us regularly if they felt the need. No, I think that they were somewhat sad that a lot of the awesome content originally planned for Open Beta had to get pushed back. I have almost gotten the sense that the lack of updates/info regarding the final release in October is because they sat down and got down to business. There is a lot of content and features that they want to release if this is going to be the great game they want to make. They do not have time to be constantly chatting with us. They have a responsibility to this community and they mean to keep it. I have a lot of expectation from them. And I know for a fact that I will not be let down.

Calling it:

-At least four new areas in Act3
-New Final Dungeon and Boss
-Reworked PvP system and arenas
-Passive Skill Reset for Everyone
-Significant changes to the skill tree/skills/balance
-New Skills
-Merveil reworked
-New areas/changed areas in Acts 1 and 2
-New 3D armor art and models like they did with helms
-New monsters
-Implementation of the new trading system
-New endgame content besides Maps
-Secret Level(Wraeclast Cows: Rhoas!)
-New Leagues
-Game tutorial text for new players
-Uniques, uniques, and uniques!
-A lot more stuff that I cannot see coming!
-A lot, lot more

Will everything make it? It is possible that it won't. But why are they keeping quiet? If I know once thing for certain having lurked for forums for over a year is that Chris is one teasing bastard =P

Rocktober!
