Is begging for items against any rules?

As far as I know, OP didn't offer to write a dick haiku. I'd give a couple fusings to someone who wrote me a dick haiku.

Hmm, here goes then:

To wake is to wang

Lol, ok yeah, that is worth a couple of fusings, if you play in anarchy add me and send me a message when you see me on.

Awesome, will do. Might be time to start a 'busking' thread!

As far as I know it's not but everyone turns into an angry dolt whenever they see you ask for something for free like it's the most outrageous thing they've ever seen before, making it seem like it's a crime or something.

it's a nice community tolerance test. beside the horrible outcome, did somebody finally spend some fusings/jewelers?

a community like this one identifies itself over exclusion of others. this worked in closed beta where you only got in by winning the invitation lottery (later by paying).
now everybody is in, communities only exist in ingame friendship relations.

your story and some of the deprecating comments about "beggars" remind me on a story i heard: a older german lady used to visit random restaurants in our area, just ordering a glass of tap water. sometimes she got one, sometimes it was denied her and she was accused of "damaging the owners bussiness because she blocked the seats for paying customers". turned out she was a very rich lady and payed 50-100 Euro for the glass of water if she was in the mood.
just another form of public education in a non existent community.

i would only have the suspicion of a poor man not wanting to work if there would be something like a job guarantee where the gouvernment offers discriminatory free public work for the official minimum wage which allows enjoying average social amenities for that person.
and no, i don't recognize huge public state sponsored programs to go abroad and shoot other states people as such.

age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
It's pretty fucked up to be drawing parallells between real world begging and begging in PoE. See, people in the real world need to eat in order to survive, and so the people at the absolute rock bottom of society are sometimes forced to abandon all dignity and beg for what they can't get for themselves.

In comparison, not having something in PoE means jack shit.

No, begging in a game, especially begging for starter gear, means something else entirely. Either you're too lazy to get items on your own, or you feel you're too good for it. Neither of those two options make you a likable type of person. Soliciting the world to solve your problems for you just takes it that one step further.

That being said, I've helped people out with gear and gems. Difference being, they didn't pester me about it but I volunteered.
Some ppl never learn.

Begging is as low as you can go...rock bottom.
So you make this threads on a monthly rate now?
As if something new will happen. We all know the drill already.

I think turning tricks for fusings would be lower.

1) I said it in the previous time ARPGfan, and I'll say it again: the only reason you got flamed for asking, is because these people are f***ing ***holes.

2) it's also because sadly, few people actually play this game as a game. an ARPG.

3) you do have some stuff that many people in this game can only dream of, but no one knows and/or needs to know that. and some people have 10X of the item you're asking

1) Thanks, you're insulting other and want them to love you afterwards (and give free stuff)? Am i the only one seeing false logic?

2) Is your belowed ARPGfan playing PoE as it must be played? It seems he's just provoking people (in forums\in chat) to joyfully say "see? see? there are so many haters =(" afterwards; and then making threads asking to give BAN for that people?? It's calling "dirty play" by the way

3) First of all, even if they got 10 Shav's - THEY EARNED IT. What did you do? Or ARPGfan? Begging, insulting other, harassing other? I clearly don't see ANY reason to give "earned" to people such as you and your friend.

Recognizing that I speak only for the culture in my own country in this worldwide community, I find it truly sad that self respect and self reliance seem to have become so passe.

I don't know anything about you, ARPGfan, but I can tell you that RayCheetah was right. Your posts about this have definitely colored my perception of you in such a way as to lead me to download Ignarsoll's script so that I don't have to see your posts (I took your name out of the blacklist to check this one out).

Genuinely being in need of help is one thing. Holding your hand out waiting for waiting for the world to give you what you want (when you could get it yourself) is something else entirely. You don't need our help to play PoE and you're not asking for help. You're asking to not have to play the game to get what you want out of it (note the lack of the word need. There's nothing in PoE that you need, only stuff you want).
Dude, I was there in onslaught when you did it. Most people were just trolling you, a couple may have been actually pissed. I wouldn't take it personal. Fact is, it's pretty easy to get some jewelers by farming merveil, so ofc people find it strange. Stuff is pretty scarce in onslaught I've noticed. If you need something, your best bet is to make a friend. I've been given a lot of stuff simply because I help people and they freely help in return. Being nice and making friends goes a long way in this game. Asking for stuff is really the worst way to get it.

I honestly don't care if someone asks for something, I just find the trolls to be pretty funny.

Edit: I went off on a tangent about onslaught in forgetting that OP wasn't looking for ons currency. He was in onslaught looking for standard currency, just to to be clear.
