Is begging for items against any rules?

" I can honestly answer that, no, I did not. I found out about PoE through another game's off-topic forum... I'm confused at your inquiry? |

It's not just POE that is like this. If you go out into the real world (yes it's a scary place, I avoid it except when necessary), as a person of able mind and body and sit on a corner with a cup and try to beg for money, you will get the EXACT same responses. Even to the point of people calling the police on you. The police, like the GMs, can't and won't actually do anything, but don't think for a second this is something limited to begging in video games.

I said it in the previous time ARPGfan, and I'll say it again: the only reason you got flamed for asking, is because these people are f***ing ***holes.
it's also because sadly, few people actually play this game as a game. an ARPG. guy asks for something? you have a choice: reply or ignore. that's it. no need to flame him for it, and it certainly isn't in any way comparable to Hardcore-stealth-PK'ing at Bandit Quests, or stealing people's loot from under their nose. and as for analogies between in-game items/currency to real-world currency? I'm sorry but bull****. unlike in Path Of Exile, in most real-world situations the money you earn is directly proportionate to the amount of effort you put in. think about that for a second. also, people in the real world don't harass and insult beggars on the street. you do have some stuff that many people in this game can only dream of, but no one knows and/or needs to know that. and some people have 10X of the item you're asking - yes that can even include Rainbowstrides or even a Shavronne - and won't mind just giving you the worst-rolled, terrible-socket one. yes, the same goes for currency as well. there are only two "rules" I think you need to follow, though: if you got something for free, you don't go ahead and sell it to make currency on it. that's disgusting. and if you got orbs for free, you should "balance it" by giving someone else free orbs when you have the chance and ability to do so. " For real John? You think a bank CEO puts in more "effort" than a custodian? He doesn't. He did it the SMARTER way. It works the same way in POE. Also, since you feel that way, I am positive you will now hand over those fusings, yeah? Anarchy/Onslaught T shirt

" The difference was in closed beta, especially towards the end of it, everyone knew that everything was going to get wiped soon anyway, so it didn't matter much. Now people are playing "for real". |

" unless that bank CEO was born into money, he sure did work his damn ass off to get where he is today. got an education. moved up the ranks. took risks. made sacrifices. there are very few shortcuts in life, and no "cheat codes". free Fusings? I would if I had enough of them. at no given time do I have more than 2 stacks of Chromes, and I still give them away to people who need then urgently. mostly those who need to quickly re-color their equipped 3-link. it both makes me feel good, and saves them from the "economy players" who won't hesitate to sell them chromes for 1:1 GCP if given the chance. Question for you, and don't take it as an attack.
How hard is it for you to go out and murder a bunch of mobs for alts? |

Free orbs outside town. Just ask the monsters (with your weapon); theyll eventually pony up.
