I'm sure Chris and the GGG staff are immensely awed by your astounding defence of their decisions in making Path of Exile.

The 'why' is the question, not the 'what'.

If you're doing it as a result of getting your way after whingeing and implicitly threatening to leave if you don't get your way, then yes, it sort of is. :)

I did it** because, as I said elsewhere, this game deserves to exist. That's less self-entitled than self-serving, in that I want this game to exist, so I do what I can to fund it. You can mask it as altruism if you want, you can even call it a donation, but it's neither. It's an investment where the returns aren't money so much as possibly the best fucking ARPG in history. To me, that's almost worth more than the 5-10% or so I'd get back if I simply invested it.

Any old company can give financial returns regardless of its field as long as it's successful.

Only one company can make this game.


**although 'drown GGG in money' isn't something ANY supporter has done, not compared to the overall gain from support from the masses.

But i do want GGG to be succesful and POE to have a thriving community. GGG is a great developer and POE can be fun sometimes.

imo POE has potential to be a great game but (ya my opinion so take it with a grain of salt) its held back because its targeted at a very specific audience.

There is nothing embarrassing (ggg prostituting itself?) at appealing to a larger audience while still catering for hardcore players if the hardcore players are not directly affected.

Please support something a lot more realistic

Another way of looking at the problem of people leaving soon after starting is that it may generate a league that has a high turnover of new players and returning players which could present some advantages for GGG.

But overall I agree with you on the fact that this is GGG game to make or break and they certainly are doing a stellar job of it (making not breaking lol). Its a trading game, this they have made very clear..I don't think a casual league stimulates a trading environment very well.

But you sound like you are getting a bit tired of these kinds of threads mate! Assuming of course :) Have some patients with these guys starting these threads..they cant let go because this game is an absolute gem in all other aspects!

Me, I would like to see a bit of love for the solo player but I wont push for it because GGG might not want their game to be that kind of game..but I don't think a "new league" is absolutely necessary.
