Getting passed up by the timer is one thing, it's only doing what it was boneheadedly programed to do...but to have a dev sit there and say: "There is no problem...shaddup!" even after you have laid before their feet the very evidence of the problem is just insulting.
Hey, that's not fair. We have never told people there is no problem or to shut up. We care a lot about how people feel about the timer and have changed it multiple times to accommodate feedback.

I don't expect to be heard, I don't expect my concerns to even be addressed. Hell, what I expect for this "rant"...is to be banned or at least "placed on probation" (wtfe that means...maybe I will get into the beta faster that way...seems that bad behavior is rewarded here)
We've banned or probated less than 10 people in the history of the forum, and it was always due to breaching actual rules (posting porn, spamming dozens of empty posts, etc). We would never probate someone for posting their opinion if they do it without flaming. We do care a lot about what our users think!

My suggestion, just like the one that I pm'd to you Chris about a weapon type for the game, will go unheeded or unanswered I am sure BUT I will give it another shot anyhow.
1st...REMOVE THE TIMER.
2nd...hire more moderators AND give them keys to distribute to forum members that are PRODUCTIVE to the community.
3rd...send out keys via email in waves like all other games.
That will END all this "timer drama".
I'm sorry I didn't reply to the PM you sent (we get thousands but do read/heed them all). I think the solution you propose here is very reasonable and may be a great idea. I'll talk to the guys.

I think that something needs to be done as well, but removing the timer now when some randoms have already been picked will only produce more flame wars and spam threads where people will feel neglected even further. I really believe there should be some other fix than removing the timer altogether.

I know im new, can't help that, but what is the point in giving the one time visits keys, they are the most likely people to not give feedback on the game at all.

That doesn't quite work as non beta members will have quite a time being "productive".
