What Iron Reflexes should be
Sneak Attacks
Converts all Evasion Rating into Accuracy Rating. Now that serves its proper function (as a keystone for hybrid armour/evasion, since pure evasion already has its own keystone) and leads to some interesting build choices, instead of making pure-armour gear strictly inferior to pure-evasion gear. Seems like it should be followed by a few crit multi nodes... Would be an awesome keystone, but I still favor the idea of converting the accuracy vs evasion formula into its own DR formula separate from armour's (for IR anyways...) Sneak Attacks should still definitely exist though!

"You can't have both; allowing Iron Reflexes and "Codename: Sneak Attacks" into the game simultaneously would lead to logic errors if a player took both keystones. They have mutually exclusive existences. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Derail: Topic title is "WHITE iron reflexes should be", which just makes me think there are multiple colours of Iron Reflexes, for every balance type

" Yes, they are mutually exclusive, but would not cause any logical errors, not if Iron Reflexes changed: Chance to Evade = 1 - Attacker's Accuracy / ( Attacker's Accuracy + (Defender's Evasion / 4) ^ 0.8 ) ...to... Damage Reduction = 1 - Attacker's Accuracy / ( Attacker's Accuracy + (Defender's Evasion / 12) ^ 0.8 ) Sneak Attack would convert evasion into accuracy; the character would have 0 evasion; a character with 0 evasion grants 0 damage resistance (1-(1/(1+0))=0). So, specifically to your thread title, I agree IR is due for a change, but do not believe it should be replaced entirely. Instead, this is what I believe it should be changed to (proper maths withstanding), and at the same time believe your Sneak Attacks would be a huge benefit to the meta, giving birth to a bunch of pseudo RT crit builds. So, I say change IR for the better (yay more diversities) AND add Sneak Attacks (yay even more diversities!) I don't believe IR actually adds any diversity; if it were balanced, it would pretty much read "You can use Dexterity instead of Strength for non-gem equipment requirements; +4% movement speed." Excepting the silly Grace+IR interaction, anyway. It's a keystone which should be eliminated.

I've been thinking about this idea since you posted it in the "what to replace IR with" thread in Passive/Tree feedback.
Converting dex from evasion/accuracy to accuracy*2 is not a bad idea. It would raise up melee and bow crit builds and compete against Resolute Technique on the tree. Trading defense for offense is already present in Eldritch Battery and Minion Instability. Lastly, turning Grace into an accuracy aura is awesome. I do think that a straight 1:1 conversion would be too strong. Fiddling with the conversion amount would be required. Since this would be the Duelist supernode, "Sneak Attacks" doesn't sound right. I'm actually struggling to think up a lore reason for converting evasion into accuracy rating as well as a name for the node. |

"Compare/contrast with Eldritch Battery: Maximum Mana affix = +68 Base ES on Vaal Regalia = 175 Ratio: 2.6 to 1 Maximum Accuracy affix = +320 Base EV on Zodiac Leather = 609 Ratio: 1.9 to 1 In terms of Grace, Discipline also exists so it's an even score there. So if anything, "Sneak Attacks" would be slightly underpowered relative to EB; a simple 1:1 conversion wouldn't be too strong. "I agree there. The lore would likely involve the phrase "a good offense is a good defense," but from an evasion standpoint, hence my temporary name involving sneak attacking. Maybe "Feinting" is a better name.
