also theres no way gcp falls down below 1 chaos
even 1 chaos is too pessimistic
if 1 gcp=1 chaos, that means to get 20 quality+ 20 level gem from a normal 20 level gem would cost you twenty chaoses. instead of using 1 chaos and then leveling again for two weeks, I can spend 19 more and have a complete finished gem
I dont know, 19 chaoses sounds like peanuts in terms of cost/time

If you don't want to do this, then you are impatient and a rare case. This won't change the fact that the majority of players will rather spend 1 GCP for a 20Q gem and make GCPs worthless due to the lack of use.
if I want a 20% quality on move speed which ends up pretty significant given that my boots max out at 15%, Id want it sooner than 1 month.
when I test out builds Id want a high quality gem at the moment Im testing the build, not 1 month later.
at the end of the day I agree, on softcore gcps will fall in price because people get tired of their characters and make new ones.
on hardcore, demand is much higher (well I dont play hardcore but I know the prices) and it wont be as much of a fall at all, imo.
It will be sooner than one month since you already have all of the gems at level 20 right? If you are talking about 20/20 gems, you can always buy 20/20 gems. All I have to say is, good luck on finding someone to sell you 20/20 gems on Anarchy or Standard.

You know what really sounds like peanuts? 1GCP and the 2 weeks of getting it to level 20.

to each its own I guess, just I doubt it will fall to chaos levels. if that happens, Ill be buying lots of gcps when they devalue.
all I can say Ive spent two pure exalts on two 20/20 gems in softcore two days ago and Im not in the very least sorry about it.

The gems might still be worth between 40 chaos and 1 Exalt each. GCPs will drop to at least 2 chaos and possibly 1 chaos per.
The problem is that no one will need or want the GCPs when 90% of everyone already has 20/20 gems. People will need to trade Chaos, Divine, or Regal for items and Exalts now.

Before you and Toastea get people hyperventilating over this thing, suppose you explain how an increase in demand for GCP's is going to make them less valuable?
The only thing that's dropping dramatically is the intelligence of the players who are panicking over this impractical new recipe...

And I suppose the source of these 20/20 gems will be RMT slave labor?

And just where are you expecting these 20/20 gems to come from? RMT slave labor?

How is this recipe going to increase the demand for GCPs? That is like saying a recipe(6Socket item+100 fusings) for a 6Link will increase the demand for fusings. It won't! Who in their right mind will need fusings when they have all the 6Links that they can ever ask for? Also I believe I am debating/discussing, not panicking or hyperventilating.
RMT slave labor? What are you smoking? That doesn't even deserve a response. The only reason for intelligence dropping is reading your posts that make 0 sense.

will someone please explain to me, what exactly is wrong with the recipe?
you have a level 20 gem which took years to level, and a GCP which took (me) months to get? have a Q20 gem.
it's a great recipe.
and your gem gets reset to lvl1, so you need to level it all over again.
oh wait, I get it: all the trade-bandits are worrying about not being able to sell Q20 level 1 gems for an Exalt any more. not being able to go on trade chat with a measly lvl1 Normal Hillock quest-reward gem at Q15, and demand c/o 5 GCP for it.
may your "sucker pool" dries out completely, "dear" scammers and "flippers".
I love this recipe.
EDIT: @Sodomee - yes, RMT slave labour. learn what happens on the supplier side of RMT. it's a short Google away. "human bots" in certain countries (ahem "Chima" ahem) being forced to repeatedly farm some damn area while conscious. for half-a-dollar-a-day at best.
they even have lovely name for this, like "advanced education camp".

The only thing I care about is GCPs not being worth anything as a trading currency anymore. When I stopped playing Standard, GCPs were already hard to trade because there wasn't much of a demand for them due to most people having 20Q gems.
Not everyone in this game is a greedy prick like you may think.

In my opinion, this recipe is realy awsome for some gems like faster casting or faster attacks. You'll only have to level these gems to lvl 10 to get the exactly same benefit from them, that you had with the gem at lvl 20. To level a gem up to lvl 10 only takes how long at the later stages of the game? 2 hours? Peanuts, if you know that every lvl after lvl 10 is pushing you beyond the point you were before.
