20Q vendor recipe=market crash
" People are freaking out because GCPs are mainly a trading orb. Their value was determined by how rare they were vs. how many people spent on their gems. GCPs are already dropping in value and it hasn't even been 12 hours since it was revealed on Reddit. Also, leveling a gem doesn't really take that long. I'm not going to lie and say it doesn't take time, but I can level up gems to 20 in around 2 weeks if they are in my swap. IGN: ThrobbinRobin

" so you get 6 gems to lvl 1 20% quality in 2 weeks and to lvl 20 20% quality in a month thats 6 exalts right there, peanuts for a top player and probably not a lot for you considering in two months you'll find far more than that in pure currency alone. " It isn't going to be 6 exalts anymore, but maybe 2 or 3. The main point is that GCPs are going to be worthless. After a month of playing, who is going to need to use a GCP? Being rare only goes so far. What happens when no one has a use for them and there are hundreds and thousands of GCPs and 20Q gems everywhere? I used to replace my lvl20 0Q gems with lvl1 20Q gems by buying 11-16Q gems and GCPing them up. Leveling up the gem was slightly annoying, but in the end it was well worth the GCPs and the time. Now I can do the same thing while spending just 1 GCP. I don't see why anyone would rather spend the GCPs/Exalted on a non 20Q gem or even spend more than 3gcp on a 20/20 gem unless they are impatient. IGN: ThrobbinRobin

gpcs are as good as worthless as you will effectively only need one of them to get an plain level 20 gem to 20%.
I wonder what a 20% level 20 gem will be worth since its now effectively 40 gem levels and 1 gcp? IGN: Arlianth

ok, so if I have lvl 20 arctic armor, lvl 20 raise zombie, lvl 20 raise spectre and lvl 20 purity and Im gonna use the recipe, how will I clear maps ?
AA is a huge part of my defense, spectres are my main DPS and zombies my main meatshield. the scaling at the last two levels is insane, so unless Im wasting time grinding low level maps (<1% experience at this point), I wont be able to do 70+ maps until I level them gems. now if you have TWO sets of gems that are lvl 19-20, then yeah. it's no problem. question is, who does besides people who spend days literally plaing this game 10 hours a day ? |

" All of those gems you listed don't really need quality in order to be effective. Purity = Aura Radius Spectre = Move Speed Artic Armour = Move Speed Zombies = Life and Move Speed If you decide you cannot live without the level 20, you can always level 4 of the same gems in your swap. If you don't want to do this, then you are impatient and a rare case. This won't change the fact that the majority of players will rather spend 1 GCP for a 20Q gem and make GCPs worthless due to the lack of use. IGN: ThrobbinRobin

Guys you seem to be forgetting that only 17% and up gems were even gcp'd unless your a noob and don't realize you can get a high quality gem fairly cheap it effectively changes nothing.
It's a good thing because quality gems make this game a lot easier. You may not even realize how many people that have trouble with the difficulty of the game can do good with 20% gems. Maybe now non summoners will have a reason to buy 20% zombies and 20% minion life. adding zombies that can tank does so so so much for those of us who like to run solo. Now there is a reason to stick gems in your off slot to just level them up. What this does hurt however is gems anywhere between 10-14% those are going to hit the floor. |

" if I want a 20% quality on move speed which ends up pretty significant given that my boots max out at 15%, Id want it sooner than 1 month. when I test out builds Id want a high quality gem at the moment Im testing the build, not 1 month later. at the end of the day I agree, on softcore gcps will fall in price because people get tired of their characters and make new ones. on hardcore, demand is much higher (well I dont play hardcore but I know the prices) and it wont be as much of a fall at all, imo. |

" People sold 11Q gems for 1GCP and 17Q gems for 7GCP. I don't see how GCPing one over the other makes you a noob. It was possible to get a 15Q gem for 4GCP rather than 5, but most people wanted 1GCP per 1Q over 10Q. This varied when it came to certain gems, but most gems were valued this way. There was always a reason to level gems in your off slot. Lvl20 auras sold for 2GCP each before this recipe was revealed. IGN: ThrobbinRobin
