" That's why it is good to have difficulty levels for some content. An easier difficulty, with pretty good gear and more forgiving bosses, and a hardcore version where you get much better drops and possibly even other bragging stuff, but bosses are mean. BTW, by hard bosses, I don't necessarily understand lots of cheap damage spikes, that is lame and lazy design IMO. I understand prolonged fights, with strategy, timing and skill involved. Offer choices, let people decide. And bosses should not even be "mandatory" or something. Just bonus places, to see more of the lore and get awesome loot. But the normal game should still provide good enough loot for people to feel satisfied about themselves and not QQ. Again, just how I would do it. placeholder for creative sig Last edited by Undon3#5633 on Apr 24, 2013, 10:42:40 PM

" I know its been done and not very creative, but I would LOVE to see something like d2 ubers. Just a quick, hard as fuck boss encounter that would kick your ass until you figured out how to do it and geared appropriately. That was epic good fun back in the day. DISCLAIMER!

Added another suggestion to allow us to increase the maximum amount of mods allowed on a map. Giving us more challenge, should we want it, and allowing us higher iiq for increases chances of map drops.

" I agree. Sometimes I'd rather just go balls to the wall one ONE really hard enemy, rather than slog through an entire maze of lesser, yet still hard, monsters. Perhaps its the MMO veteran in me hungering for raid type encounters. Alteration Orb Union Local #7

Yea, and then being able to go back to grinding exp, OR farming items provided such an awesome gaming experience.
I miss that game :) DISCLAIMER! The views and expressed opinions of Dragon are solely those of a drunken redneck and are not necessarily those of a sane person. " Sadly for me I didn't have a computer back then, so I only got to make like 3 runs through vanilla Diablo 2 on a friends computer, and never played LoD or MedianXL. Titan Quest was the first ARPG that I had on my own, and played obsessively. Alteration Orb Union Local #7 "Alts are 16:1 Chaos. You got that tough guy? " I am truly sorry. That game provided years and years of nonstop entertainment for me. Perhaps now that I have grown up (in age not maturity), it takes a lot more for a game to engage my interests as much as d2 did. Maybe that is why I just can't seem to find a game that compares. My wants/needs have changed over the years. DISCLAIMER!

" I feel you man. Because I didn't have a computer until I was 17 or so, I grew up being a console gamer, and I too know the pain of a mix of disappointment with the shit that comes out nowadays, combined with being jaded, cynical, and just plain worn out on games to a degree. To me, the early nineties till around 2005 or so, tops, were the heyday of gaming. SNES, Sega Genesis, the almighty Playstation and Playstation 2, games like Xenogears, Final Fantasy Tactics, Ocarina of Time, etc, it's hard for the industry to live up to our memories. Doesn't help that this console generation sucks ass in my opinion, and the entire gaming industry seems too corporatized and more concerned with the moneymaking aspect than the game making one, but that's a gigantic can of worms I won't open here. Rofl yea. But is the gaming industry to blame? Or are we just changing as we age? That is a question that has me plagued lately. It sincerely feels like the gaming industry is to blame. It just seems like they want to make as much money on a game with minimal effort and care nothing about a long lasting replay-able game. But ofc I would think that. Does that make it true? Or have I just lost the innocent of youth?

" I've given it a lot of though as well. I know that we have to account for the subjective aspects of it; games we played back then felt fresh, exciting. Now though those same exact games, just moved around in time, could come off as boring and cliche. So yeah, it's definitely us to a degree, but just like you, I'm very certain that the blame is more like 25/75 (25% us, 75% the industry sucking nuts now). Companies like Frictional Games, Basilisk Games, and of course GGG, are the only hope I have for video games anymore, if I'm honest. Alteration Orb Union Local #7 "Alts are 16:1 Chaos.
