On a somewhat related topic, I am now considering one final option rather than searching for a new game. I wonder what would happen if I set up a multiboxing party. I already have a dedicated currency farming char that I spend at least half of my game time playing. What would my resources look like if I had a full party of drones following me increasing my iiq simply for being there?

Let's face it, those players like kripp and other streamers have fanboys literally THROWING themselves at them. They have access to better trade deals and freebies. If I had 5x the currency I have now, to roll my progression maps with the absolute PERFECT stats, maybe then I could get what I want.

As far as I know, multiboxing isn't against the terms of agreement. Ofc I would be playing the main farming char and not botting. This seems like the only way for me to achieve "hardcore" status.

GGG has no problem with multiboxing for some reason, which encourages players to do it.
So while GGG hasn't directly said they want people to multibox, making it a vastly superior option and not discouraging or banning it is encouraging the practice.
It's the superior option and it's not discouraged, so why would you ever want to do it any other way?

I always thought cheating dampened the fun, but in this case it isn't cheating. It is clever use of game mechanics. It is the best/only way for me to get what I want, so why the fuck not? I will still have to put the time in. I will never bot. It would simply be me playing my farming char while 5 tards follow me. Kinda like playing in a public game.

I guess now the question is... how the hell do you multibox?

Feb 2013 - twitch.tv/destructoid - multiple clients okay; 3rd party programs not okay
Transcript, 1:24:06-1:24:38
Destructoid: Is multiboxing allowed? Is that an issue in games? I've seen a lot of people doing that with WoW and other games, is that something people try to avoid?

Chris Wilson: Our current stance on multiboxing is you're welcome to run multiple clients on the same machine, but you should be playing each one, and if you're using tools to proxy your input between them and stuff like that, then that's an unfair advantage. So if it's exactly the same as walking between six computers and you move the mouse at each one and you control the character, that's no problem at all. But as soon as you're running cheating programs to make it so you're effectively running one guy with the power of six, then that's a problem.

I doubt they can discern what is what, nor do they care. In addition, it says "that's a problem" but doesn't say what they will do about it.

All that post really says to me is, "We are against players using software to multibox, but we really aren't gonna do shit about it."

God, I used to multibox a Shaman and a Bard in Everquest; I can never see myself bothering with that nonsense again.

I tried it in wow. Tried to box a dps and a healer to be able to run last expacs 5 mans for mounts and junk. It was a pain in the ass and I soon gave up, however all I would seek to do with this game, is have a full party simply following me. A shame there is no /follow command, or /players 8.

I'll agree that, at this point, PoE doesn't have a definitive multiboxing policy, but more of just a vague concept that might eventually become a policy.

However, while you're off having fun skirting the lines of ethics, I'm going to create a new thread on this to hopefully step up enforcement.

Ugh, who said it would be fun for me? There is a reason why I haven't resorted to this tactic, nor even considered it until this night.
